Trying to cut back on coffee.
I enjoy reading articles by other Note users.
And, they are incredibly educational.
I get sleepy immediately when I read formal, text-heavy textbooks.
Although I, Itsuki, often grumble about insomnia and being bad at falling asleep.
Actually, I have a secret weapon for a good night's sleep (?):
“If I read a complicated reference book or history textbook in bed, I'd fall asleep instantly.”
That is the kind of thing I have.
I just don't do it because it feels wrong somehow.
I just don't do it because it feels wrong somehow.
If I accidentally choose something I'm interested in on those days, I'm headed straight for an all-nighter...
For someone like me, Note articles, which are full of personal experiences and the author's emotions, slide into my head and heart very smoothly,
as if I were eating somen noodles.
As a major premise, it's even more so because I'm actively going to read articles on topics I'm interested in.
My recent trend is,
in addition to visiting the articles of people I follow as if they were neighbors, I've been visiting the articles of people I don't follow as if they were from out of the prefecture.
It's very fun because there's a sense of encountering a new and vast world, like being on a trip.
In the midst of such days, I read this article ⇩
It's an article about the changes that occurred in the author's body after not drinking coffee for two days.
Itsuki has made it a habit to enjoy grass-fed butter coffee for breakfast on weekdays ⇩
And, coffee time is also a healing ritual ⇩
However,
If I'm thirsty, I have coffee.
Coffee when I feel like having something in my mouth.
Coffee when I'm hungry.
Coffee after a meal...
I'm also aware that I'm abusing coffee.
It's impossible to give it up.
I suppose I could if I really wanted to, but I don't want to do that if I want to enjoy my daily life.
So,
I think I'll try to cut back on the coffee I drink "just because" other than the grass-fed butter coffee I have with breakfast and the coffee I have as a treat.
Even if I do drink coffee, it seems it won't affect my sleep if I have it 5 to 8 hours before bedtime.
To make it easy to understand, I'll decide for myself that it's okay until my afternoon break around 3 o'clock, and I won't drink any after that.
The idea is to cut my current intake of about six cups of coffee a day in half.
When I put it into numbers, I'm surprised at the level of dependency.
This is the behavior of someone who no longer wants to sleep.
As expected, it seems I need to cut back a little.
Actually,
I started yesterday, and I feel like I fell asleep better last night.
It might have just been self-suggestion, though.
I'll try to be conscious of it for a while.
