"I believe that introducing CHOKIP is not just about saving time, but also leads to leveling up the salon," says Celeste

Hello everyone. This is the CHOKIP marketing team.
We interviewed "Trimming Salon Celeste," who have been using the electronic medical record system "CHOKIP" since March 2025.Trimming Salon Celeste

The name "Celeste" is said to mean blue sky or the heavens in Latin. Also, in the world of road bikes, there is a color called "Celeste color," which is said to have a slightly different shade every year. This carries the meaning of "taking on a different challenge every year," and it is said that the salon name "Celeste" also embodies the desire to"be a salon that takes on new challenges while growing every year."

Also,at "Celeste," they value careful counseling. Even for dogs that visit every month, they don't just accept them with a "same as usual" approach; they check for changes in physical condition and confirm grooming details, and they also make an effort toask things like "Was there anything you were concerned about last time?" to help draw out things that might be difficult for the owners to bring up.
In addition, they provide solid advice and care for skin issues and work to alleviate them as much as possible. It is a wonderful salon that
values building relationships of trust with owners and creating an environment where both owners and their dogs can visit with peace of mind through these kinds of efforts.

We asked "Celeste" about their experience using CHOKIP.

I felt that CHOKIP was the best match for the "careful customer management for each individual dog" that we prioritized.

――Please tell us how you found out about CHOKIP and the background to its introduction.

The first time I heard about it was through a CHOKIP pamphlet distributed by a wholesaler. At the time, we were operating with multiple staff members using handwritten paper charts, but
with paper, it was troublesome to look back at past information, and handwriting done in a hurry was hard to read.
Also, since we hadn't secured enough storage space, everyone was feeling stressed about storage methods and preparing charts for the next day.

We were also using paper cards for dog check sheets, but since they were small, they would sometimes get lost, and we felt the hassle of printing and cutting them again for reissuance. In the midst of this, I saw the CHOKIP pamphlet, became interested in electronic medical records, and decided to introduce it after attending a "CHOKIP Consultation Session." Also,

thanks to the thorough support we received until the end during the introduction, we were able to start very smoothly.

――Did you compare or consider other electronic medical record systems?

I gathered some information, but I didn't go as far as hearing directly from them.
Since we prioritized careful customer management for each individual dog as a factor for consideration, I felt that CHOKIP was the best match in that regard, so I decided to introduce it.

The best thing about actually introducing it is that the time spent facing the dogs has increased.

――What were you expecting when you introduced CHOKIP? Also, how has it been since you actually started using it?

What I expected before the introduction was to reduce the physical and mental burden on groomers by cutting down on the time spent searching for charts and the hassle of recording.

I thought that by using the time created by that, we could increase the time spent facing the dogs, and by checking past chart data together with the owners, we could increase awareness regarding the dogs' health, thereby providing better service.

For example, I expected that if we knew that skin problems occurred at the same time every year, we could take measures such as having them taken to the vet before it gets worse or trying a different shampoo.

Since actually introducing it, we have been able to utilize it as expected. The best thing is that the time spent facing the dogs has increased. It might only be 5 or 10 minutes, but I believe that the accumulation of that time is very important for the owners and the dogs.

The owners seem happy with the care reports, and I feel there are no disadvantages to introducing CHOKIP at this point.

――Did you have any anxieties or concerns when introducing the electronic medical record system?

I did have some concerns.

  • What if the data disappears?

  • The hassle of migrating past chart data

  • At first, will the owners enter the information?

  • The reaction of owners who are used to paper operations

These were some of the things I was worried about.

However, once we actually started using it, we have been able to operate without any particular issues.
The data migration during implementation was very easy using CHOKIP's customer information entry service, and the pet owners seem happy to receive care reports via LINE. I also feel it is good for the owners as it makes it easier to manage their pet's weight. So far, I feel there are no downsides to introducing CHOKIP.

――How did you conduct the lectures and practice for CHOKIP within the store?

First, we held a staff meeting to explain how to use it, and then we had the staff share their opinions and ideas on how to use it while actually working with it.
Based on those opinions and ideas, we found operation methods that better suited our salon, and once we decided on a policy, we shared it again in a staff meeting.

Specifically, for example, regarding photo registration for care reports,we unified the way reports are entered so that there isn't a big difference regardless of which staff member handles it: the first photo should be "a natural shot of the dog spending time at the salon," photos of "areas of concern such as skin problems" should be registered from the second photo onwards, and photos taken at the photo booth should be sent directly via LINE.

Also, since many owners are concerned about their pet's excretion status while in our care, the staff who confirms it shares the information with the person in charge, and we reflect it in the care report before the owner comes to pick them up. Even if there is an excretion right before pickup, we have a flow in place to share it among staff, so we are able to tell the owner directly.

――Were there any difficult points when introducing it?

I was a bit weak with the initial settings like regular holidays, but the "CHOKIP Salon Support" team supported us thoroughly until the end, so I didn't feel it was difficult! Thanks to their support, I felt it was very easy.

――How long was the preparation period until implementation?

I think we started in about two weeks to a month. I was thinking that if introducing CHOKIP would make work easier for all the staff, we should start as soon as possible.

Having more free time has allowed me to devote more time to staff training.

――It has been about a year since you introduced CHOKIP, could you please share your honest impressions?

My honest impression is that I am full of thoughts about how glad I am that we introduced it.
The time spent searching for charts, checking past charts, and writing care reports has been significantly reduced, and work stress has been alleviated.
As a result, the time I spend facing the dogs has increased, and having more free time has allowed me to devote more time to staff training.

Also, since the contents of the charts are always shared as data, staff members other than the person in charge can smoothly check the charts in advance when helping with treatments.
Therefore, only a final verbal confirmation is needed, which has reduced unnecessary conversations.

In addition, with paper charts, if they were ever lost, we would have to print 30-40 chart formats and put them in clear files, so in that respect, electronic charts are great.

Also, owners sometimes show us image references for cut orders, but until now, staff members would take photos of those images individually and not share them, so we had to ask the staff member who took the photo to show us every time we needed to check the cut image.
Butwith CHOKIP, you just register the image in the chart and everyone can check it freely, so it's convenient for me to grasp the order image in advance when I give cut lectures to the staff.

――You have also been using online booking for about half a year, could you please share your honest impressions of that as well?

When we first introduced it, few people used online booking, but as the number of new customers has increased, the percentage of people using online booking has been increasing.
It might be influenced by the fact that the age group of our customers is getting younger, but I have the impression that the number of online booking users is steadily increasing.
I think people who want to book at night outside of business hours are using online booking.

――CHOKIP's online booking is a "request booking" system, but I heard that Celeste has never declined a request booking so far. Do you have any tricks?

We offer a "daycare service," so many customers leave their dogs with us for long periods.
Therefore, even if it is difficult to perform the treatment at the requested time, we can accept the booking without declining it by adjusting the schedule on our end to finish the treatment by the pickup time.
By looking at the situation and saying a word to the owner like, "Daycare is possible, but would it be okay if it takes a little time?", we are able to operate without any problems.

Even for new customers, since the customer information entry and Crape linkage are completed by the time they arrive on the day, we are able to talk to them while having a grasp of the dog's information.

――Was the Crape linkage with the customer's LINE smooth? Also, how did you announce it?

For existing customers, we explained the benefits such as "we are introducing electronic charts to face the dogs more" and "information such as weight and skin problems will be accumulated as data and become easier to check," andthey had them link with Crape,so they accepted it without any problems.

For those booking for the first time via LINE,we send the URL for information entry to the customer in advance and ask them to enter it.
After entry, we send a one-time code to link LINE and Crape, and have them complete the Crape linkage.
.

By doing so,even for new customers, we can welcome them on the day of their visit with their customer information entry and Crape linkage completed, so we can talk to them while having a grasp of the dog's information.
For bookings made by phone, we also ask them to register on LINE and send a message, but if that is difficult, we respond flexibly, such as by guiding them when they visit the store. I feel that both methods are going smoothly.

At our salon,"how to make full use of what is given in the environment"is something we always try to think about.
At first, the staff were all a bit worried that the unfamiliar electronic charts might be "troublesome," butsince we regularly talk with the staff about how to use it to make the owners happy and increase satisfaction, I think we are making effective use of Crape.

I think we are also able to promote the sales of retail products by utilizing care reports.

—Have you noticed any changes in your customers' health awareness regarding their dogs since you started using Crape's care reports?

The thing we get the most reaction about from owners is weight! They often tell us things like, 'They've gained weight again' or 'It just keeps going up...!'
Conversely, for dogs that have suddenly lost weight, by asking, 'Are you dieting?',we are able to have them share details about changes in their physical condition.

In other cases, by reporting 'There was a rash on the stomach' in the care report, the owner became concerned and took the dog to the vet.
At that time, we received feedback saying, 'Because you told us about the rash early, we were able to prevent the skin trouble from getting worse.'
I get the impression that owners are very responsive when it comes to weight and skin issues.

—You seem to be using the system effectively in your salon operations. Could you share any other ways you utilize Crape's care reports?

I think we are also able to promote the sale of retail products by utilizing the care reports.
For example, if we check 'dry paw pads' in the items of concern and send a comment saying, 'We recommend paw pad care,' owners sometimes ask, 'Do you have any recommended products for paw care?' when they come to pick up their dogs. This allows us to appropriately suggest products the dogs need and helps drive sales.
I feel the key is that by leaving notes about the dog's concerns in the care report rather than just mentioning them verbally, it leaves a lasting impression on the owner.

The service I found most gratifying is that the 'CHOKIP Salon Support' team carefully helps us with anything we don't understand.

—How has the 'CHOKIP Salon Support' been from before you introduced it until now?

The timing of our CHOKIP introduction was a very busy period when we had several new staff members join, so there were many times when our replies to the support staff were delayed, but even then, whenever we asked questions or needed confirmation, they replied immediately, and I am truly grateful for their support.

I don't think there are many companies that teach you so carefully, and from the attitude of the support staff toward their work, I feel that the passion of the CHOKIP company is well shared among everyone.

—What do you think is the most gratifying service or feature of CHOKIP?

The service I found most gratifying is definitely that the 'CHOKIP Salon Support' team helps us with anything we don't understand!
CHOKIP settings might not be a problem for someone who specializes in back-office work, but since we have to handle it in between grooming, I feel it's difficult to do alone.
In that sense, having someone to support us when we don't understand or are in trouble is probably the most gratifying service for people in this industry.
We can easily make inquiries via LINE, and when we want to discuss something thoroughly, we connect online to get support.

I believe that introducing CHOKIP is not just about saving time, but also about leveling up the salon.

—Do you have any advice or a message for those considering CHOKIP?

I think CHOKIP is the best recommendation for those who want to cherish and engage with their owners and dogs. The more time you spend engaging with the dogs, the more beautifully and cleanly you can cut and finish them.

Also,if you have time to spare, you can spend more time on customer service, which I believe leads to gaining the trust of the owners.

Also,I believe that introducing CHOKIP is not just about saving time, but also about leveling up the salon.
Therefore, if you have ideas like wanting to level up your own salon or create time to gain the trust of owners, I think CHOKIP is the right choice!

—Thank you very much for talking with us today!
