[Music Review] Heart-Fluttering Anime Songs Part 6

A series where I unilaterally recommend anime songs.

The 2025 spring anime season has started, hasn't it?
There's a strong sci-fi presence this season, and I'm very excited.

It's been a while since the last anime song feature.

So, I've put together a list of songs I like from around the 2024 fall to winter anime seasons.

Some might be ones I've introduced in other articles, or even a bit older.

Banri Ikku

The ending theme for 'Sengoku Youko: The Thousand-Demon Chaos Arc'.Anyway, this final chapter was so emotional that I got completely hooked.

My love for Senya just won't subside.

A human life, a fleeting moment that shines within the long, long course of history.It's a song that makes me think of the perspective of looking down on the activities of life, and I repeated it many times while thinking of the protagonist.

And the voice is just so cute.

Iinazukkyun

The opening theme for the 'Ranma 1/2' remake.

I'm from the Ranma generation. This remake was a god-tier remake where the main voice cast remained exactly the same as back then.

I love ano-chan. The chaotic lyrics are just wonderful.

Anta Nante

The ending theme for 'Ranma 1/2'.I really love this voice.

The lyrics link to the protagonist, yet it has a unique worldview that is wonderful.
The Chinese-style riff in the middle gives me goosebumps.

The animation in the MV is also really good.

UNDER and OVER

The opening for "Raise wa Tanin ga Ii".

The guitar riff in the intro is cool.

It's a human drama about yakuza.
It's a story where all the characters are crazy. It's interesting to find humanity in them amidst that.

The ending for "Raise wa Tanin ga Ii".

Since the singer is named Yoshino, just like the protagonist, I thought the voice actor was singing it, but it turns out it's a singer with the same name.

This character also speaks in Osaka dialect and snaps at people, so the image fits perfectly, which is great.

Hollow

The opening for "Demon Lord 2099".

It's a story with a very unique setting: a fusion of fantasy and cyberpunk, set in a future Shinjuku.
I like it quite a lot.

It's a story with a lot of humor and a melancholic atmosphere, and this wistful opening matches it perfectly, making it very emotional.

Spira

The ending for "Demon Lord 2099".

As mentioned above, it was an ending that perfectly matched that atmosphere of a fusion between fantasy and cyberpunk.
This song also has a cool and bittersweet feel. It's a very modern-sounding track.

It has a nice gap with the somewhat airheaded protagonists, and it synchronizes with the dystopian setting of the story.

Otonoke - Otonoke

This is the opening for "Dandadan".

A fusion of the occult and the emotional.
The animation is also very cool and stylish.

I find myself watching it over and over again.

Otozure

The opening for "You Are Ms. Servant".

It's a modern-sounding song, but I love that it has a band sound.
The complex guitar work left a very strong impression on me.

Zettai Seiiki

Theme song for "Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction".

It is sung by ano-chan and Lilas Ikuta, who played the two protagonists.
ano-chan's wild lyrics and death growls are wonderful.

The song is by TK from Ling Tosite Sigure.

I love this movie so much that I can't seem to come back from it.

It's a story that shows the end of humanity in a realistic way.

Scream!

This is the ending theme for "Let This Grieving Soul Retire." It fits the characters' images perfectly and is a super cute, off-the-wall song.
I like it quite a lot.

I played it for my first-grade daughter, and she loved it so much she keeps it on repeat.
However, the content of the anime feels a bit too mature for a first grader...

Maybe when she's around middle school age...

I guess there's no music video for it.

This is the ending theme for the second season of "Unnamed Memory."

The story is just so emotional.
It's a complex story that you wouldn't really imagine from the art style.

And this purifying ending song is just stunning.

This is the opening theme for "I Left My A-Rank Party to Help My Former Students Reach the Deepest Part of the Labyrinth."

It's a slightly unusual dungeon exploration fantasy.
I wonder if it falls under the "revenge/comeuppance" genre.

The song and the story are in sync, which is great.

It's a hip-hop track that feels grand during the chorus.

Zen

This is the opening theme for "Zenshu."
It's a story about a genius animator who ends up inside the world of an anime film that she has loved like a bible since she was a child.

It's a girl band with a slightly nostalgic metal sound, which is great.
It's cool how they play hard rock while wearing maid outfits.

It has a slightly old-fashioned feel that fits the story's setting perfectly.

Just As You Are

This is the ending theme for 'Zen-shu'.

The lyrics, 'I don't know if I can protect this place you created through your suffering,' make me cry as I think about the protagonist, who is a creator.

Year N

This is the opening theme for 'Promise of Wizard'.

It's a story about wizards who protect the world. There are many handsome wizards who appear.

I was watching and thinking, 'What's with everyone being so handsome?!' and found out the original work is a game.
I wonder if it's a type of otome game? Apparently, it's a wizard training game.

It's a very fantasy-like and cute song.

Sinner

This is the opening theme for 'Übel Blatt'.

It's a revenge drama. It's a slightly gory anime for adults.

The music, which has a strong Middle Eastern vibe, fits the world of the story well and is very cool.

Utopia

This is the opening for "RINGING FATE".

It is the Japanese version of the theme song for a Chinese anime.
Refreshing dance music.

It's about cute characters battling, but the setting is actually quite brutal.
For some reason, the song matches perfectly with a world that feels like it's between cyberpunk and steampunk.

I've only seen the beginning so far, though...

This is the ending for "Shangri-La Frontier".

It's a story about someone who just keeps playing a virtual reality full-dive MMO game.

Starting with an intro that sounds like old-school game music, it turns into a rock style that feels very Shangri-La Frontier, and it's really cool.

Saraba

Opening for "Blue Box".

It's a rare, orthodox, pure youth love story for these times.

The straightforward rock is very good.
It's unfair to sneak the characters' names into the lyrics like that.

Kaiju

Opening for "Orb: On the Movements of the Earth".
The song itself is truly a monster of a track.

It links so well with the story that I can't quite come back from it.

Hebi

The second ending theme for "Orb: On the Movements of the Earth".

I became so emotionally invested in the two main female characters by the time this ending played that I couldn't escape the world of the story. I listen to this song while thinking of them, shedding tears, and hanging out the laundry every day.

ROAR

The opening theme for "Ragna Crimson".
It's a hard rock track that matches the world-building of the story.

The hardcore-like vibe is a sound that I find very comfortable.

Land of Sleep

An insert song from "Norn9: Norn + Nonette".
It's an anime from 2016.

The characters in the show sing it, and both the voices and the song are incredibly good.

This is another story filled with handsome guys, and the original work is an otome game.

Although it's a romance game, the world-building is quite elaborate, and I thought if they had fleshed it out just a bit more, it could have been a legendary anime.
(Sorry for being so critical.)

Shonen Shojo (Boys and Girls)

The theme song for "Sonny Boy".
It's an anime from 2021.

It's a story about students from a certain middle school who drift into a strange world and struggle to find their own way in life.
It was really good.

It's wild, chaotic, and nonsensical, yet it's a solid coming-of-age story, and this song fits that world perfectly.

Today's Song

An insert song from "Sonny Boy".

This is a rock song that perfectly captures the characters who are drifting but still living their lives as middle schoolers.
I really love the vocals.
