A combination where the mellow aroma and gentle sweetness harmonize exquisitely with the spice of intellectual curiosity.
Still,
'Coffee and bean paste, no, a code.'
This pun leaves me feeling warm, yet it also carries a lingering feeling like the prologue to a mystery.
' The Man Who Drinks Blue Mountain in the Morning ', the lingering impression of that title alone is worth a cup.
Every time you turn the page, a mystery emerges quietly, yet surely, like the steam rising from a cup.
This is surely a book that makes you want to gaze into the bottom of your cup after you finish reading it.
I love both the mystery and sci-fi works from Tokyo Sogensha, and I often purchase their paperbacks and the magazine 'Shimi no Techo'. However, I had not yet read this *1st Sogen Mystery Short Story Award winning work.
*By the way, this contest is considered one of the most difficult among the various mystery open calls.

Hagane Mizumi's future works are something I look forward to, just like waiting for the next cup.
