Introducing my favorite article without permission! Reviewing YeKu's "AI Art Canvas" review article
What do you mean, reviewing a review article?
I think so too. ←
In honor of YeKu's project article, which celebrated its 3rd anniversary yesterday ⇩
not quite (!?)
I'm going to review an article that I personally consider to be a kind of definitive version of a review article ⇩
without permission.
The reason is that I left a comment in the comment section with so much passion that I'm almost embarrassed to say it while sober but I didn't feel like I said enough, so I wrote this article.
Actually, I was planning to post this next week, but since the project has started, this post is jumping on the bandwagon.
In a word, this article is not "you'll understand if you read it," but a review article that "you'll understand if you look at it"you'll understand if you look at it" review article.
Moreover, it's of an extremely high level.
I felt that the level of perfection as a review article is quite high, including how images and videos are used, how personal experiences are incorporated, how words are placed, and even how disadvantages are handled.
That's exactly why I don't want this to be thought of as the average for review articles.
This isn't just a "lucky good article"; it's an article where the design level of each individual part is properly high.
This time, I'm going to look at what was good about it and how, starting from the beginning.
■ First of all, the table of contents is easy to read

First of all, the table of contents is already quite easy to read.
It's not just easy to read; the burden on the reader when reading ahead is quite low.
・The "reading burden" is low from the table of contents stage
The explanation cost is low.
The reader doesn't have to think unnecessarily about "what's written ahead." Just by looking at the headings, you immediately understand what is being written about.
・A good balance between emotional and practical words
I think tables of contents are usually prone to being inorganic, but this article is different.
For example, while there are emotional headings like
'It raises the 'baseline of happiness' in life',
there are also practical headings like
'Coupon codes and product links'
properly included as well.
So, even before reading, you know that
'there are stories about the experience and solid practical information.'
This is a major strength.
・The order follows the user experience
The sequence of the headings is also well-done.

Overall review
This flow is very close to the actual order in which you would interact with the product after buying it.
Therefore, you don't get lost while reading, and it's easy to absorb the information.
In other words, I felt that this table of contents is not just a table of contents, but a design to ensure the reader doesn't get lost.
■ An unboxing experience like 'buying a painting'
The first thing I felt was that it is designed as an experience of 'buying a painting' rather than just a 'gadget'.

It conveys that it was 'fun' properly. It feels like the excitement of unboxing is written as an experience rather than just a task.
It doesn't just say 'it has a high-class feel,' but elevates the positioning of the product itself from a 'machine' to 'art.' This one sentence changes the reader's perception.
Also, the explanation of the spare parts is very thorough. It even picks up on details that would normally be glossed over, such as 'spare inner frame panels x3'.
Moreover, it adds a bit of humor with 'I wonder if the day will ever come when I use them all up?' while landing on a sense of 'peace of mind.' I felt this sense of balance was very good.
■ About the size
This might seem plain at first glance, but it is done well.
A little larger than A4, the drawing area is about B5.
Just by including this kind of explanation, it becomes much easier to understand.
Honestly, I think there are many people who don't immediately grasp what inches mean.
But when it's replaced with sizes we are used to seeing, like A4 or B5, it suddenly becomes much easier to imagine.
It's not flashy, but I thought it was thoughtful that it properly included this explanation that helps the reader visualize the size.
■ Installation Method
Here, rather than the installation method itself, I thought it was good that it properly shows what it looks like after installation.

Since actual photos of it hanging on the wall are included, you can understand not only "how to install it" but also "what it looks like when installed" at a glance.
Moreover, when you see it actually displayed, it intuitively conveys that "Oh, this doesn't look digital."
It's very powerful that it reaches a state where you can "understand it as an experience" faster than if it were explained in text.
Here too, I felt that the principle of "see it to understand it" rather than "read it to understand it" was thoroughly applied.
■ Is the initial setup difficult?
This is a point where I thought it was quite skillful.
The sentence, "just add it as you normally would."

This, those who know can just breeze through it, and those who don't can understand it by looking at the images. It doesn't over-explain, but it doesn't leave anyone behind either. The reader-centric design is excellent.
Furthermore, it's good that it specifies the time, saying, "It won't take even 5 minutes to get to this main screen." It effectively lowers the psychological hurdle for the initial setup.
Also, it is honest to clearly state that the paid option "AI Studio" is "not required for use." It doesn't spring paid elements on you later, but instead builds peace of mind from the start.
I thought this review article was quite thorough in its writing style of "proactively addressing points that might make the reader anxious."
■ Magical rewriting
This part is also highly polished.
First, the author doesn't hide the point that might cause anxiety, writing, "It flickers for a moment, making you think it might be broken!?" Then, they provide reassurance by adding, "It rewrites properly in a few dozen seconds."
The flow from anxiety to reassurance is very clean.
Furthermore, it's powerful how they translate this into an experience by calling it "like magic!" It doesn't end as a mere explanation of specifications, but conveys the fun of it.
And above all, the fact that they show this in a video is wonderful. By showing "this is what actually happens" instead of just explaining it in text, the credibility increases significantly.
Instead of saying "please believe me," they say "you'll understand if you see it."I thought this sincerity was very strong.
■ Beautiful precisely because it "doesn't glow"
I thought this part was at an extremely high level.
What's especially skillful is the phrasing, "precisely because the unit doesn't glow."
Usually, digital products tend to have their value explained in terms of being "bright," "vivid," or "high-definition."
But this article does the opposite, turning the very fact that it "doesn't glow" into a value.
Moreover, they don't just end it as a specification explanation,
"If you place it by a window, the way the picture looks changes depending on the light"
It's powerful that they convey this as an experience.
With just this one sentence, the reader can imagine not only "how it looks," but also "how it fits into daily life."
Furthermore,
"Unlike a mere digital tool, it feels like it naturally nestles into your life while providing beauty"
This expression is also wonderful.
With this one sentence,
Digital = glowing, cold, a tool
This product = fits in, quiet, beautiful
the contrast is established instantly.
In other words, this is not just a specification explanation, but shows how the product exists in the room.
Moreover, it flips what might seem like a weakness—the fact that it "doesn't glow"—
into a value.
In terms of redefining value,I thought this was a very well-crafted explanation.
■ Abundant presets
The phrase "paintings with expired copyrights" might seem like an unremarkable sentence at first glance,
but I thought it was a highly sophisticated explanation.
Because it lets you instantly understand, "Oh, there are tons of these."
Even though the number of images isn't explicitly explained,
the idea that there are countless old paintings—meaning a vast array of choices—is naturally filled in by the reader's mind.
Therefore, rather than"explaining the quantity,"
this is written in a way that "convinces the reader of the quantity."
As a result, it even conveys a sense of relief that "you can choose from a huge selection."
I thought it was very clever to convey all that in just one sentence.
■ Images that can be registered
The explanation of the downsides here is also very well done.
It doesn't hide the limitation of "up to 10 images at a time."
Looking at this alone might seem inconvenient, but
immediately after, it presents a workaround—"you can just delete and re-upload"—as a set,
so no anxiety remains for the reader.
Furthermore, it's good that it keeps it to a subjective opinion by saying, "I didn't feel it was that much of a bottleneck."
Instead of asserting "there is no problem,"
it presents it strictly as the author's own impression, leaving room for the reader to judge for themselves.
This style ofpersuading without forcingfelt very sincere.
■ How is the dedicated AI image generation service within the app?
The writing here is also very skillful.
First,
"You can give vague instructions in Japanese, the generation speed is fast, and the adherence to instructions is high, so I found it very fun."
That is one sentence.
Here, it seems like it's just listing performance specs, but it's actually an explanation that you can understand quite intuitively. becomes.
You can understand its ease of use from "you can give vague instructions," and you can understand that you won't be kept waiting from "the generation speed is also fast."
Furthermore, "high responsiveness" also conveys that it's easy to get the results you expect.
Moreover, since it ends with "fun," it's clever because it conveys not just a performance description, but also how it feels when you actually use it, all in one go.
Furthermore,
"I tried making an image changed to a mohawk and spiked shoulder pads"
This example is also good.
This isn't just playfulness; it's an explanation that makes you understand the freedom of the features, such as
"you can attach images and edit them"
and
"you can tinker with it quite freely," instantly, along with a laugh.
I thought this part was also well done, as it doesn't just end with a feature introduction but conveys it as an experience.
■ It raises the "baseline of happiness" in life
This part is also quite strong.
This review ultimately concludes not with the features, but with "how it affects daily life."
The expression "raises the baseline of happiness" was particularly impressive.
This is because it expresses the value of quietly elevating daily life, rather than a flashy change.
Furthermore, the phrasing "the atmosphere of the room becomes a step brighter" is also good.
It speaks of it as a change in atmosphere, not physical brightness.
In other words, here, instead of ending with "it's convenient" or "it's high-performance,"
it carefully puts into words how this product works within daily life.
Because this kind of conclusion is possible, I thought it was established not just as a product review, but as a review that stays close to daily life.
■ Considering everything, it might be quite a good deal
The flow from here to the end is also quite well done.
First,
"The price might feel a little high to buy casually."
By doing so, they acknowledge upfront the initial hesitation a reader might have regarding the price.
I thought this was quite clever.
Because they acknowledge the feeling that it might be expensive right from the start,
the subsequent explanation doesn't come across as pushy.
Building on that, by comparing it with other companies' products and connecting it to the idea that
'if you buy one painting, you can only display one, but with this product, you can display whatever art you like depending on your mood,'
they shift the conversation away from the price itself and toward 'what kind of experience you can get for that price.'
Furthermore, they categorize AI Studio as a 'nice-to-have feature' rather than 'essential,' which again avoids being pushy until the end.
This sincerity is very powerful.
And then, the final
'It was like,a product like a flower that never wilts...!'
This is my personal favorite part.
This isn't just a beautiful metaphor; it captures everything in a single phrase: adding color to a room, placing a quiet sense of healing in your life, and being able to enjoy it for a long time.
I think it's at a level where it could be used as a catchphrase.
After building a sense of justification for the price, they use this single sentence at the end to capture the product's value all at once.
I thought it was an extremely well-crafted conclusion.
■ Coupon code and product link
Honestly, this was quite shocking.
Even though they have included the coupon code and product link,
there is absolutely no 'salesy' vibe.
In my opinion, this is quiteextraordinary.
The thing is, I'm quite sensitive to that 'hard-sell' vibe,
and if I feel even the slightest bit of discomfort,
I'm the type who thinks, 'They're only thinking about themselves' or 'They just want to make a sale.' I've had so many experiences with pushy sales pitches in my life that it's ridiculous.
But this article really had none of that at all.
In fact, it was the opposite; the more I read,
the more I felt my trust in SwitchBot growing.
To be honest,I'm not really that interested in art itself.
Even so, after reading this article,
I felt my trust increase to the point where I think, 'If I'm choosing an electronic appliance in the future, I can't go wrong with SwitchBot.'
I think that's quite amazing.
Originally, PR articles are supposed to have the goal of 'selling,' but
this piece of writing doesn't seem to be 'trying to sell' at all.
It is truly a remarkable piece of work.
And yet, as a result, it earns the strongest trust.
Personally, I felt that this part of the review article
was quite essentially well-done.
■ Afterword
Thank you for reading this far.
The reason I wanted to write this article is simple: because I thought,
“People who do good work should be properly evaluated.”I thought.
As I break down and look at YeKu's article like this,
I can see that every single part is carefully crafted.
I may sound arrogant, but I have the confidence that I can write decent review articles myself.
However, if I were told to "write an article of this level in the same way," it would simply be impossible.
What I thought again while breaking down YeKu's article is that,
rather than "only this part standing out," everything is at a high standard.
If you were to take each element individually,
you might be able to reproduce it if you took the time.
But when it comes to having all of them at a high standard, the difficulty level jumps up extremely high.
Doing the obvious things obviously, and with high precision.
I think that in itself is extraordinary.
Personally, I think that when it gets to this point,it is safe to call it talent.I think.
Being able to understand something and actually being able to reproduce it are different things, and I think it would take about a month just to trace it.
It is presumptuous to even be jealous of the quality. That is how much care has been taken down to the smallest detail.
I suspect that YeKu's "minimum standard" is set quite high.
If I were a scout for review articles,
I would reach out to YeKu without hesitation.
To put it extremely, if I had 100 chances to choose,
I would choose YeKu 100 times.
That is how powerful I felt this single article was.
You might think, "Isn't that too much praise?" or "Are you a total fanboy?"
I think so too ←
In all seriousness, for me, it's actually the opposite;
I feel like using light words would be a lie.
So, when I tried to write accurately,
it ended up with this much passion.
It is completely my own self-satisfaction,
but thank you so much for sticking with me this far.
Finally, I think checking the official page and official article will deepen your understanding,
so I will leave the official note link here.
By the way, for this campaign, I chose A: Smart Home Experience Set.
You might think, "Wait, not the Art Canvas?"
but I'm not that interested in art (lol).
Because there's no point if you don't choose what you actually want.
