I was invited to a meeting
where all the members of the local club
would be gathered.

The person in charge said they would introduce me as an award recipient
during the session where they report on the awards.

However, it overlapped with my work.

I initially told them I wanted to decline,
but they insisted,
so I made arrangements at my workplace and attended.

I am glad I went.

Even though I was the one receiving the award,
if I had been absent,
it would have been rude on my part.

On the day, I needed to say a few words
of greeting and thanks.

My clothes were my usual rotation.
But since I am not good at makeup,
I thought about asking a beauty salon to do my face and hair.

When I thought about the cost,
I hesitated for a moment.
Usually, I would just endure it.

But that day,
I decided to give it a try.

The awards ceremony at the hotel earlier.
The appearance of the women I met
in that glamorous setting
might have inspired me in some way.
