Planning My Own Schedule | Kotori Diary | Episode 53
Since I started attending school,
there is something that confused me.
In correspondence school,
there was no class schedule.
When to study which subject,
and how far to progress.
The report deadlines,
and the exam dates as well.
I had to keep track of everything myself,
make my own schedule,
and study.
It was my first time,
so at first, I didn't really understand.
Besides, in correspondence school,
there are almost no opportunities to meet people.
So, I didn't have anyone
to teach me how to do things.
I started with the subjects I liked,
or the ones that were easier to tackle.
Work, childcare, and studying.
Within a single day,
I only had a little bit of time for study.
To make progress in that limited time,
that was the only way I could do it,
starting with what I could.
It was quite a while later
that I learned about someone else's method.
They had made a list
in Excel.
All the subjects.
The required credits.
Which reports to submit by when.
The exam dates.
Everything was organized
so that it could be seen at a glance.
I thought it was amazing.
I tried imitating it, too.
Once I could see my schedule,
I felt a little more at ease.
The path of learning without meeting people
was a series of groping in the dark.
In that groping in the dark,
what happened?
That is a story for another time. I have also written about those days of trial and error here.
