Do You Need 'Special Talent'? Observations from Working at Beets
Hello!Beets Co., Ltd. public relations representative Sako here.
After hearing from our HR department that
'students are curious about what kind of people work at Beets,'
I took another look around the office.
When it comes to jobs in 'advertising' or 'marketing,'
some might feel intimidated, thinking, 'You need to be a bundle of talent who can come up with brilliant ideas in a flash.'
That might not be the case.
But in reality, there are surprisingly few people who rely on 'flashes of inspiration,' and I feel there are many who have the passion to 'think through things thoroughly and doggedly as a team.'
This time, I'd like to talk about the 'people at Beets' as seen from a PR perspective.
People who never give up on 'making it better'
What all Beets employees have in common is
an attitude of thoroughly engaging with everything by asking, 'Can't we make this even better?'
It's not just about doing what you're told, but having your own 'perspective.'
People who can turn small, everyday curiosities—like 'What's the goal behind the color of this poster?' or 'This shelf at the convenience store changed since yesterday'—into hints for their work are the ones who gather here.

Instead of a flash of inspiration, we keep searching for the '!' until we're satisfied
Rather than coming up with 'flashy ideas,' members who steadily think through the '!' that solves client problems from those familiar perspectives are the ones who thrive.
What hasn't changed since I joined the company is that everyone is incredibly dedicated to their 'work.'
They are also excited to try new things, saying, 'Let's give it a shot first.' There is an atmosphere where they enjoy the trial and error itself, one way or another.
Running alongside the client
Looking at projects all over the office, I notice that members treat clients not just as 'customers,' but with a sense of closeness, as if they were part of the same team.
They don't just stop at 'making what they were told to make'; if the other party is in trouble, they worry and sweat together, sometimes even to the point of being meddlesome.
I feel that this mindset of being a 'running partner' has naturally taken root.

A sense of distance that allows for casual consultation across job titles
Beets has a corporate culture where it is very easy for employees to communicate with each other, regardless of their seniority or job title.
Instead of carrying everything alone, you can casually throw ideas to the colleague sitting next to you, asking, 'What do you think about this?'
Such scenes can be seen quite naturally everywhere.
If someone says, 'I want to try something new,' there are colleagues who will find it interesting and say, 'That's great, let's do it.'
By the way, this article written by a young 'insider' at Beets is also wonderful for its perspective on finding interest in casual scenes around the office, so please take a look.
In closing
Beats is not a place where people compete for "special talent" that surprises everyone.
Rather, it is about being able to be earnest about what is right in front of you, asking "Why is this like this?" or "Maybe it would be better if I did it this way."
For the sake of our clients and our team members, we "just can't help" but think about how things could be better.
Perhaps the defining characteristic of Beats is that everyone values this "attitude of engagement."
