【淡路島の風景24】うずの丘 大鳴門橋記念館＆おっ玉葱／Uzu-no-Kuni Onaruto Bridge Memorial Hall & "O-Tamaneghi"@Awaji Island-260718
「淡路島の風景」では、淡路島内の様々な風景を紹介します。インスタ映えするものだけでなく、ユニークなものも。
玉ねぎ尽くしと「おっ玉葱」
大鳴門橋近隣の施設シリーズ。今回は少し離れた大鳴門橋記念館です。
施設名は知らなくても、今や淡路島のシンボルともいえる、高さ2m以上の玉ねぎのオブジェ「おっ玉葱」があります。インスタ映え抜群です。
ただ真正面から撮影すると、大鳴門橋が隠れてしまいます。少し左側にずれて撮影するのが、橋とおっ玉葱を両方収めるコツです。
ちなみに写真撮影用に「玉ねぎのカツラ」があり、犬用まで準備する入念ぶりです。近くには玉ねぎのベンチとテーブルまで。
施設内も、「玉ねぎラッピングのストリートピアノ」や「たまねぎキャッチャー」など、すがすがしいほどの玉ねぎ尽くしです。
前回紹介した「道の駅うずしお」と同様、この個性が魅力なのでしょう。ちなみに、同じ会社の運営です。
この、両施設に共通するぶっ飛びぶり、聞いて納得でした。

All-In on Onions and the Giant Onion Art!
Even if you don't know the name of the facility itself, you’ve likely seen its giant onion sculpture, "O-Tamaneghi."
Standing over 2 meters tall, it has truly become the ultimate symbol of Awaji Island and is incredibly Instagrammable!
Here’s a quick photo tip: if you shoot it completely head-on, the Great Naruto Bridge gets hidden right behind it.
Shifting your angle slightly to the left is the secret to getting both the giant onion and the bridge into the same frame.
To show you just how thorough they are, they even provide "onion wigs" for visitors to wear during photos—and yes, they even have them for dogs!
Nearby, you’ll find onion-shaped benches and tables. Inside the building, the onion obsession continues with a street piano wrapped in an onion design and even a UFO catcher claw machine where you can catch real onions.
It is refreshingly, unapologetically all-in on onions.
Much like "Michi-no-Eki Uzushio," which I introduced last time, this wild, distinct personality is exactly what makes it so charming.
As it turns out, both facilities are managed by the exact same company.
Hearing that completely made sense—their shared level of pure, delightful craziness is unmatched!
