【淡路島の風景23】道の駅うずしお／Michi-no-Eki Uzushio@Awaji Island-260717
「淡路島の風景」では、淡路島内の様々な風景を紹介します。インスタ映えするものだけでなく、ユニークなものも。
うずしお尽くし
前回紹介した、淡路島と四国をつなぐ大鳴門橋に隣接する道の駅です。
非常に人気があるのですが、一言で表すと「うずしおに全振り」です。とにかく渦潮にこだわっています。
マスコットキャラクターは、「うずうずワクワクしている小さな子」という「うず坊」で、ぬいぐるみなども大量にあります。
そして建物も、うずしおをイメージした円形、かつ螺旋階段です。
そちらでは「大！うずしお展」として、渦にちなんだものを一挙紹介していました。
とにかく施設内から、「楽しんでもらおう」というポジティブなオーラを感じ、見ているだけで楽しくなります。
新世代の「目的地になる道の駅」として、今後も人気を集めそうです。

Everything Whirlpools!
As mentioned in my last post, this is the roadside station located right next to the Great Naruto Bridge, which connects Awaji Island and Shikoku.
It’s incredibly popular, and if I had to describe it in one word, I’d say they are "all-in on whirlpools." They are absolutely obsessed with them!
Their official mascot is "Uzubo," a cute little character bursting with excitement (a play on uzu-uzu, the Japanese word for itching to do something, and uzushio), and you’ll see an absolute sea of his plushies everywhere.
Even the building itself features a circular design inspired by whirlpools, complete with a spiral staircase inside.
Up there, they were hosting the "Grand Whirlpool Exhibition," showcasing all sorts of things related to vortexes and swirls.
You can truly feel a vibrant, positive aura radiating from the entire facility, all driven by a desire to make sure visitors have a great time.
It just makes you happy simply walking around! As a next-generation "destination roadside station," it looks set to keep drawing huge crowds well into the future.
