The light I could only meet at the bottom of the deep sea
Hello, this is Patako.
A long, long time ago,
I fell and fell, and went to the bottom of the deep sea,
to the pitch-black ocean floor.
This was not an experience like Jacques Mayol's,
but a story from a world with my eyes closed.
What I was so depressed about,
is completely outside my memory now,
but it seems there was a pain that held me tight and wouldn't let go.
I had the sensation of my body hitting the sandy bottom with a thud,
and I thought, 'Ah, I've reached the ocean floor.'
It was quite dark there.
There were no living creatures.
In the soundless, quiet space,
my body was just swaying gently.
'I've fallen as far as I could fall,'
I thought to myself, understanding the situation.
But that darkness and silence were strangely comfortable,
it was a world where I could even think, 'I'm home.'
I don't know how long I was swaying there,
but I suddenly lifted my face upward.
Slowly, with a sluggish movement.
And what I saw above me was the water's surface, where sunlight was scattered and sparkling far away.
'What is that... it's too beautiful.'
Having witnessed an indescribable beauty, I gazed at it for a while,
and then I muttered this.
'I want to go there.'
At that moment, my body began to rise smoothly upward.
'If I think I want to go up, I can go up.'
My memory stops right where I thought that.
Did I reach the surface...?
Even if I wonder what happened after that,
no scenery appears, and it remains a mystery.
Since it was a world with my eyes closed,
it was only a physical sensation,
but it is an event that somehow remains very vivid in my memory.
However, what were that dazzling light and the beautiful water surface?
And the fact that I, who had no choice but to sink,
wished, "I want to go there."
And that the moment I thought so, my body moved.
Was it a virtual experience depicted by my subconscious at that time?
When I opened my eyes, I was dazed for a while,
muttered, "It was somehow mysterious and beautiful,"
and felt that I had seen something very important.
There was just one thing I thought about very clearly while on the seabed. It was,
If I hadn't fallen this far,
I wouldn't have been able to encounter the full extent of that beauty.
That fact.
Yes, that was,
precisely because I was on the deep seabed,
a light I was able to encounter.
It was a gift given by the darkness.
Thank you for reading until the end.
I am grateful for the joy of meeting you here.🌸
And, grateful that there is light above my head at all times.
