The Third Night of My Hiroshima Trip: Getting Exasperated with AI

And so, it is the third night of my Hiroshima trip.

I stayed at a hotel in front of Hiroshima Station on the third night.

Tomorrow, I'm going to Kure by myself. I plan to be in bed by 9:00.

I didn't really know what there was to see in Kure.
I asked Gemini, "What should I see there?"

• Yamato Museum (a museum for the battleship Yamato)

• JMSDF Kure Museum (an exhibition hall for submarines)

• Arey Karasujima (a place where you can see active submarines lined up)

I see, I'd like to see those.
My destination is decided.

Now, how to plan the timing.

I'm taking the Nozomi No. 46 departing at 17:03 to return to Tokyo.

If I work backward, I should be able to figure out what time I need to leave the hotel.

Only local trains came up.

There was no such convenient rapid train.

I asked if I could take a bus directly from there.
It answered that it didn't know.
I changed how I asked.

I tried telling it the bus company name and looking up route names.
Gemini's "I don't know" regarding the rapid train was at least honest.

Claude just kept insisting one thing after another, only to end up not knowing anyway.
AI characteristics show up even in situations like this.

(Gemini admits it easily, while Claude tries its best to look into it)
It took so much time that I got fed up and gave up.

I returned to my original plan of "walking to Kure Station and taking the bus."
I looked it up on a transit guide and took a screenshot.

I showed it to Claude.

This was also exactly the same as the plan I had originally thought of.
I looked up the bus schedule back to Kure Station myself as well.

Sigh, I was supposed to be in bed by 9:00.
Even though I walked 20,000 steps in Miyajima today.

A grown adult, spending two hours dealing with AI.
I should have just gone to sleep.

Maybe the one I was fed up with wasn't Gemini or Claude, but myself.

Finally, tomorrow's schedule is set. Everything, including the bus times, is decided.

AI was excellent as a partner for consultation.
It provides calculations and suggestions immediately.

However, the answers it provided,

needed to be verified with my own eyes.
Especially train and bus times!
