How to Publish a Kindle eBook Part 1: Operations [Kindle Book Details]

I will explain the first step of Kindle publishing,
"Entering Kindle Book Details,"
including how to perform the operations on a smartphone,
in an easy-to-understand way from a beginner's perspective😊

As I announced the other day,
I have published one book😆

The campaign where anyone can read it for free is
scheduled from 5:00 PM on Monday, March 30th
to 4:59 PM on Tuesday, April 1st.

Let's run campaigns for
our fellow note users' Kindle books,
and list them together in a note article🤭

Today, for beginners challenging themselves to publish an eBook,
I, as a beginner,
will leave this on note as a guide😁

Before the publishing operations, first check this out!

Not in the Kindle app,
but in the regular Amazon shopping search bar

when you enter the book title...

It actually came up first😆✨✨

Wow.

It really has become a book.

This was actually quite moving🤭‼️

Now, let's get to today's main topic!!

Publishing KDP e-books

I will write about the operation methods for Kindle publishing
little by little‼️

You can perform these operations on your smartphone☺️

Let's sign in to KDP!!😊✨️

After signing in, I selected
Create New Title and then
chose E-book (non-manga).

Publishing begins by
entering information in the tab called
Kindle Book Details!

The text is a bit small, but
I will enter it in order from the top.



・Language → Japanese
・Book Title
・Title Reading (Furigana)
・Title Romaji

This is a required field!

After that, you can optionally enter a
Subtitle.


My picture book didn't have a subtitle,
but I was curious about how it would be displayed,
so I entered one.
For the title, I entered



Harukana Ima (Distant Now) and for the subtitle,


Shiawase wa, mou koko ni. (Happiness is already here.).

This is how it is displayed on the sales page!

Subtitles are optional, but

in the case of picture books,

I think there are many books with similar titles,
so

it might be a good idea to think of a subtitle😊

The next items are

・Series
・Edition

These are optional.

In my case, I did not enter anything.

Next are
・Author
・Contributors

I wrote about these two
in a previous article,
so please take a look at that☺️

The explanation will be a bit long, but
I will continue entering information in order from the top.

Next is Description.

You write the description within 4000 characters, but
this picture book was originally 13 pages long.

It was quite difficult to describe a 13-page book😇


*It has since been republished and is now 19 pages.
At that time, I also updated the description!

When I checked how it appears
on the Amazon shopping app,
it was

[Book Description]
displayed clearly
on the purchase page!

Since I always check this description section when choosing a book,
I think this

content introduction is very important😊

I felt I shouldn't cut corners here,
so I wrote it quite thoroughly!

Probably😊!!

Continuing with the input!

・Rights required for publishing
→ I clicked Copyright~

・Primary target audience
Explicit sexual content~ I clicked No

Target age is optional, but
select and enter from the pull-down menu!

・Primary marketplace
→ Select Amazon.co.jp.

・Category
・Keywords
・Book release (optional)

Regarding categories,
I touched on that in this article😊
You select the category for your book.

Keywords are optional,
so it's fine whether you enter them or not.

Of course, I think entering them
makes it easier for people to find you through searches.

You can add them later too.
I proceeded with them blank😌

Finally,
check the box for
「Book is ready for release」!!

Once you've done this,
save as draft and finish for now.

With this,
input for the Kindle Book Details tab is complete!!
