What I Changed First to Stop Getting Frustrated with My Kids: [Meals]
Parenting is a series of unreasonable situations.
It always happens when I have no time,
“Mom, look!”
“Does it have to be right now?”
These kinds of things keep happening.
Honestly, I found myself getting frustrated over and over again.
But then, it occurred to me.
If I can't change others, I have to change myself.
So, the first thing I reviewed was my “meals”.
Looking back, my diet while busy was clearly unbalanced.
・Low in protein
・Mineral deficiency
・As a result, I was constantly craving sweets
I eat sweets because I'm tired
→ I recover for a moment
→ But then I get frustrated again
I was stuck in that loop.
What I did was very simple.
“Effortless nutritional improvement”
In addition to the main dish...
・Keep boiled eggs on hand
・Stock up on cheese, yogurt, and kinako (soybean flour)
・Put shirasu (whitebait) directly on rice
・Eat tofu
・Drink soy milk
・Serve natto or canned mackerel as a side dish
Since I am always pressed for time,
I increased the number of “things I can eat immediately without processing”.
The same goes for vegetables.
I don't aim for perfect cooking.
・Cherry tomatoes
・Broccoli (frozen is fine)
・Pre-cut vegetables
・Wakame seaweed
・Frozen edamame
・Keep frozen mushrooms to put in miso soup
I made “things I can serve as-is” my allies.
・I tried to be mindful of eating cheese or nuts for snacks
Then, a mysterious change occurred.
The sweets I had been craving so much
naturally decreased.
The frequency of wanting snacks dropped!
And above all, what was most significant was
“peace of mind”
Even when my kids say something,
I've become able to take a breath before reacting.
My frustration
wasn't a personality issue.
It might have just been that my body was lacking something.
I didn't really want to be frustrated either.
Now, I have a little more room
to face my children.
It doesn't have to be perfect.
Start with “one bite of protein”.
It really works, so I hope you'll try it ☺️
