Switzerland Trip Day 4 🇨🇭 Lucerne City Sightseeing: Chapel Bridge and Old Town⑫ Most shops were closed on Sunday😂

On the final day of the trip, we had breakfast at the hotel, left our luggage there, and checked out🏨

After offering a prayer at the church, we finally started our sightseeing in Lucerne✨

Historical paintings of Lucerne are depicted on the underside of the bridge's roof, and the morning and evening light is magnificent.

🏙️② Exploring the Old Town (Altstadt)

Once you cross the Chapel Bridge, you are immediately in the Old Town.
It is a series of cute streets with colorful murals painted on medieval buildings.
There are also many souvenir shops, chocolate shops, cafes, and watch stores.

📍A lakeside promenade that continues from the pier (Pier 1) right by the station.
If the weather is nice, the mountains (Pilatus, Rigi) and the lake shine✨

Recommended route:

• In front of the station → In front of the Schweizerhof Hotel → Towards Hofkirche (church)

• Relax at a lakeside cafe (e.g., “National Bar”, “Seehotel Terrasse”)

📍The end of the lakeside promenade.
A beautiful Renaissance-style church that enshrines the patron saint of Lucerne.

※Unfortunately, in Switzerland,most supermarkets, shops, and shopping centers are closed on Sundays. (Some shops are open)

  • Clothing, souvenirs, pharmacies, department stores (Manor, etc.)

  • Shops inside the station

  • Shops inside the airport

  • Some retail stores and restaurants in tourist areas

So, David couldn't buy the Swiss sweater he wanted😅
We bought souvenirs like Swiss chocolate at the Migros supermarket inside the station. (Glad it was open😂)

In the end, we only did city sightseeing that day😝

What catches the eye in the Old Town is the fountain of the legendary figure 'Fritschi', which dates back to the 15th century ⛲️

The Old Town used to be surrounded by city walls, and various murals are painted on the walls of the buildings standing close together.

Am I the only one who thinks the paintings on the buildings look a bit devilish? 😂

It's wonderful that there is no trash on the streets in Swiss cities 🥰

The sneakers 👟 I saw in the shop window looked fluffy and warm 🥰

A cuckoo clock 🕤 I found inside a souvenir shop.

They were all in the range of tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of yen; surprisingly expensive 😂

I bought a cat keychain that cost about 1,000 yen at the souvenir shop and went outside 🐈

After that, we continued to stroll through the Old Town 🚶‍♀️
