Creative Notes in the AI Era: The Reversal Phenomenon Where 'Humanity' Is Starting to Become Valuable as Technology Evolves (#CreativeTheory #GenerativeAI #ImageGenerationAI #WebNovels #note #Essay #Creation)
Hello. Good evening.
I go by 'Ura-byoshi' and I usually write light novels.
This is not a finished answer, but rather a set of interim notes on something I have been thinking about for a long time.
I feel like something a little strange has been happening in the world of writing lately.
Thanks to AI,
skills like
'summarizing neatly,'
'organizing clearly,''and polishing for readability'
have become increasingly generalized.
In the past,'well-written prose' itself had scarcity value, but now, you can create something that looks the part in a very short amount of time.
In other words, the'refinement' that humans have spent a long time polishing
is starting to become reproducible through technology.
But on the other hand, what is capturing people's hearts in the current creative market
is something that is contradictory,
unrefined,
or has emotions that aren't fully organized,
'human-like words'
or so I feel.
This is quite interesting, because
humans have always been moving in the direction of
shaving off immaturity,
erasing noise,
and tidying things up neatly,
yet the moment technology began to reach that point,
it looks as if we are now starting to rotate in reverse
and beginning to find value
in 'things that aren't too perfect.'
Perhaps what people want to see right now,
rather than perfect explanatory ability or a polished correct answer,
'This person is really struggling while they write'
is, perhaps, thepresence of a living person visible behind the text.
That is why lately,
between trying to write well,
and writing 'sentences that truly have me in them,'
I have been writing while constantly wavering.
Afterword:
It seems the human brain hasn't changed much in 200,000 years. Moreover, if you put human history on a 24-hour timeline, the internet society is said to be a blink of an eye or less. Even the Industrial Revolution is on a scale of about 0.8 seconds, and the beginning of agriculture is about 50 seconds.
Thinking about it that way, it's only natural to be tired since we are living in a super high-tech society with brains that are almost the same as they were in the primitive era. If anything, I sometimes think that not being able to adapt well to modern society might be normal for a biological organism.
