Discovering New Joys🏔️~I think I've awakened😄
Do you ever experience things like this?
Diagnosed with metabolic syndrome, but can't lose weight💦
Told I have high blood pressure and am on a diet, but nothing changes💦
My glucose metabolism levels are at a diabetic level💦
I sit a lot for work and the muscle strength in my legs is declining💦
My knees have been hurting lately, and I feel a sharp pain when climbing stairs💦
I get heart palpitations when I climb stairs💦
I can't sleep at night when I think about various things💦
I can't let go of my sleeping pills💦
I have terrible headaches and always carry painkillers with me💦
My fingers have started to become difficult to bend💦
These are all problems that either I or my husband have🤣🤣🤣
As we age, our bodies change little by little, don't they?
As we get older, our experience increases, but our bodies inevitably decline.
Are you resigning yourself to that?
There are people who discover sports at 60 and achieve top results in senior competitions, people who start running full marathons, and even people who are still aerobics instructors at 90.
But you feel like those people have nothing to do with you.
You start to think that way, don't you? Actually, those people just cherished a small opportunity.
I've also been thinking about health as my top priority lately. Before, work was my top priority. Because I wanted money. Because I didn't have enough.
That's what I was thinking while sitting in front of my PC.
There was a time when I worked hard at jogging too!!
But, after receiving a shocking result of 'suspected breast cancer' at a health checkup one year, I thought, 'I can't die yet,' and I actually started waking up at 5 AM every morning to go jogging🏃🏃🏃
A year later, when I was told, 'We don't recognize it as breast cancer. Just follow-up observation,' I felt relieved, but then I ended up losing the habit of jogging as well.
It's half an excuse, but I think I probably wasn't enjoying jogging.
Reflecting on that, for the past year and a half, I've awakened to walking. I plan walking as my top priority of the day.
By walking like that, I was able to strengthen my legs, and naturally, it also serves as a change of pace. I can also find and buy interesting products. I thought walking was good.
And then, at last month's health checkup, my glucose metabolism results weren't as good as I thought. In fact, they exceeded the standard values and are trending upward.

I thought I had to do something, so I'm thinking about and running programs with AI. But I'm not doing any amazing sports; I'm just changing the order in which I eat my meals, thinking about when I eat, moving after meals, and continuing to do light exercise like just wandering around at night.
I hope things will be a little different when I have my health checkup next March.
That's what I was thinking.
But then, a turning point came for me!!
For about two years, I had been thinking, 'I want to climb Mount Oyama.' Then, I helped my husband with his diet, and as a result, he succeeded in losing 10 kilograms in a year, and we started walking together for about two hours every day. After those small efforts, we went to climb Mount Oyama in late April.

The view looking down from an altitude of 1250m was battered by cold winds, making it hard to even eat lunch. My body, chilled by sweat, had its temperature sapped by the cold wind, so we retreated immediately after eating.
The new buds near the summit were small, and the mountain cherry blossoms were still in bloom. There were also many violets blooming, so I felt like it was around early March in terms of the season.

On the way down, there was a waterfall said to be where ascetic monks performed waterfall training...
It was so healing~💛
And for a beginner with shaky knees, the steep stone steps were a living hell💦

I came down this while protecting my trembling knees💦
And the descent was another steep slope where going down just a little bit meant a 200m drop in altitude. We didn't pick up the pace, descending at our own slightly slower speed, taking about 2 hours from the summit to the parking lot.
On the stairs near the parking lot, my knees were wobblingand I had to rely on the handrails to get down.
Well, that night, I immediately had muscle pain in the front of my thighs.
“I’m still young, aren't I!”
That thought was short-lived, andthe next day and the day after, I was plagued by severe muscle pain in my entire legs and back, to the point where I couldn't fall asleep or even roll over. For the first time in a while, I applied muscle pain relief cream.
Even while gasping from that muscle pain, I still made sure to go for my walk. And there, I discovered something strange.
While I wobble on the downhill slopes, I can actually climb the uphill slopes more easily🤣
What is this mysterious phenomenon?
Apparently, after my muscle fibers were broken down, my muscles were rebuilt to be thicker it seems. Isn't this amazing?
The change was so significant that I thought, 'I don't want to lose the muscle I've built here.' And then I realized that just walking around my neighborhood doesn't really lead to much change💦.
That means...
I need to climb mountains again!
I see! Is that how people get hooked on mountain climbing?
I thought, but maybe I'm the only one who gets hooked that way🤣
I'll be posting mountain climbing and hiking reports irregularly😆👌
