○ "The path opens after you've been embarrassed" — What April 20th teaches us about the relationship between luck and growth
Getters Iida's "Stories to Improve Your Luck for 365 Days" is a book filled with
words that accompany each of the 365 days of the year. It
gently reminds us of important things that we often
overlook in our daily lives.
I want to accumulate small realizations in my daily life. With that in mind, I am
updating this series every day. I would be happy if you could
read it quietly at the start of your day.

The theme for April 20th is
"Try being embarrassed a lot".
The message for this day is a positive one:
"By not running away from embarrassment and moving beyond it, both your luck and your life will open up."
■ Overview
When you want to break out of bad luck or stagnation, it is said that you need an attitude of
"going out to get embarrassed" rather than stopping and saying, "I won't do it because it's embarrassing."
Embarrassing experiences always lead to learning. They are signs of growth and change, and it is even stated that
"those who cannot be embarrassed will not grow."
Life is like a journey.
"Traveler's shame is easily forgotten" (a Japanese proverb), and the
courage to take a step forward will show you the next view.
■ Point 1: Get used to being "embarrassed"
By accumulating experiences of being embarrassed even a little at a time, the
hurdle to taking on challenges will definitely lower.
Even the "embarrassment" that feels huge at first will, as you gain experience, become something you can think of as
"Well, it's just like this."
That change will increase your amount of action and, as a result, expand your opportunities
.
■ Point 2: What lies beyond "embarrassment" is important
Growth is challenging yourself with something new. And with new experiences,
failure and confusion are inevitable.
That is why moments when you feel "embarrassed" are also
proof that you are standing at the entrance to growth.
It teaches us that because you moved forward beyond that point,
joy and happiness are waiting for you.
■ Point 3: Don't be ashamed of being "embarrassed"
Failure or total humiliation is a waste if you just leave it as a "dark history."
Instead of closing yourself off by saying "I won't do that again," by
thinking about "what to do next," your
experience will turn into confidence.
Embarrassing experiences are exactly what will
lift you up to the next level.
■ Point 4: There is good luck beyond being "embarrassed"
The core message of this day is that
good luck lies beyond being "embarrassed."
Experiences where you challenged yourself enough to feel embarrassed will
expand your connections with people and attract new opportunities.
As long as you think "I must not be embarrassed," your current situation will not change much.
That is why you should muster up a little courage. That will be the
trigger to change the flow of your luck.
■ Small practices you can start today
・Choose one thing you "want to try but feel embarrassed about" and try it on a small scale ・When something embarrassing happens, try viewing it as an
"experience" rather than a "failure"
Embarrassment might not be a reason to stop, but rather
proof that you are moving forward.
Beyond that step, a landscape you have never seen before will unfold.
May you have such a day.
