This time, I made a 'non-existent future' exist as a commercial.

Right now, Pollo AI, the tool sponsor, is holding a serious contest called the 'Pollo Workflow Challenge' (creating a 15-second ad video from a single product image).

Along with expressing my intention to participate in this hot event, I will reveal the behind-the-scenes of the work I created with all my heart.

🏍️ The origin of production: Overwhelming respect for the movie 'AKIRA' and that 'Kaneda's bike'

At the origin of my craftsmanship is the masterpiece sci-fi anime film 'AKIRA'.

Among them, the 'bright red bike' ridden by the protagonist Kaneda has left a strong impression on my mind.

The low form that seems to crawl on the ground, and the overwhelming acceleration that leaves the night city behind the moment you twist the throttle.

As the theme of the official contest is 'a single product image,' the first thing I created was this 'Tsukikage' advertising poster.

'Clad in light, severing the darkness.'

The world-building comes across even in a still image, but the moment I made it move as a video, this bike began to 'exist.'

🛠️ Two 'obsessions' I didn't want to compromise on for the visualization

Current video generation technology does more than just create realistic images.

It has become possible to reproduce even the 'textures in our minds' as creators with quite a bit of tenacity.

In turning this into a commercial, there were two 'obsessions with expression' that I did not want to compromise on.

1. The expression of light 'flowing like a living thing' on the body

Moving the 'specular reflections' of the surrounding scenery smoothly requires extremely high descriptive power.

By daring to finish the entire body in a full-chrome mirror surface, I wanted to make the neon lights of Tokyo at midnight and the light of the giant moon floating in the background crawl and flow beautifully over the body as if they were living things.

2. Camera work just like a real vehicle

From the single poster image, I connected a close-up of the rider lowering their helmet shield and a smooth side-tracking camera shot just like a real vehicle commercial without any sense of incongruity, pouring an overwhelming 'sense of reality' into a future product that does not exist.

In the past, it was impossible for an individual to give shape to a 'future that only existed in their head.' That is because it would have absolutely required a budget of several million yen and several months of work from a CG team.

But now, an individual can reproduce on their desktop that same passion that once stunned the world from Japanese manufacturers like Yamaha and Honda.

We have entered an era where 'the person who can imagine the most' is the strongest.
