Did an Angel Take It Away?! - The Scent of December 20th
Original 'Don't Take It Seriously' and Camphor
Not taking things seriously is not about coldness, but about height.
Today's Accord
The original 'Don't Take It Seriously' is a quiet and graceful scent of frankincense, white musk, and Bulgarian rose. I will try combining it with camphor.
Camphor has a unique, cool resinous quality.
It lacks intensity, but it provides a refreshing sensation; it lacks weight, but it offers a sense of calm.
In the top notes, the frankincense and musk blend with the camphor, creating an otherworldly, celestial sensation.
It smelled like the scent of a place far, far above, where things have broken through.
Un ange passe - An angel passes by
It is said that in French, when silence falls, people say 'an angel has passed' to break the awkwardness.
Perhaps an angel passes by and carries away the undesirable things lingering in the air.
Sudden hostility, provocations, base gazes... we might flinch for a moment, but 'Un ange passe'—the pause happened because an angel passed by.
And just like that, it took something away.
So, I smile at the angel.
Thank you for reminding me, I say.
If I could live my days carefully like this, observing the moments when time stands still, not neglecting my own emotions, believing in them, and removing from my sight the things I don't need to face.
Although this is a different usage of 'Un ange passe' than the original, surely for those who wish to remain elegant, an angel will pass before their eyes and carry away anything that is not clean.
Such a scent has been created.
The last note is as calm and gentle as a smile.
Scent, thoughts, breath.
To those whose birthday or anniversary is December 20th, congratulations.
