I'm writing this note in an emergency [Foreign Exchange Trading Diary 15]
As the title suggests, I am writing this note in an emergency.
Please take a look at the image below!

The US Dollar/Yen, which had been showing active price movements since this afternoon, has finally broken through the 150 yen level!
Why am I writing this note in an emergency?
I was actually planning to report on the trading situation from Monday to Thursday (today), which I hadn't been able to share yet, in tomorrow's article.
However, thanks to various economic events today, I anticipated that combining these four days into a single article would result in an enormous volume.
I want you all to enjoy reading my articles, so I am writing this emergency post to digest some of the content and keep the volume down as much as possible.
Why did it hit the 150 yen level??
If you have read my foreign exchange trading diary before, you might have thought "Oh" when you saw this report about the Dollar/Yen approaching the 150 yen level.
Until now, it had been fluctuating in the range of 145 to 148 yen, so the number 150 yen is not something we are very used to seeing.
The reason the Dollar/Yen rose this much is due to a certain event that happened today.
That is the
press conference by Bank of Japan Governor Ueda
which started at 15:30.
Since it was known in advance that the content would be about future monetary policy, it seems it was an important event where the exchange rate could move significantly depending on what was said.
What was the result??
The focus of the press conference was,
whether there are any plans to implement an interest rate cut
It is.
A rate cut (lowering interest rates) is, in short, a measure to curb inflation and stimulate the economy.
The situation was that if a rate cut were implemented, it would lead to a stronger yen and a weaker dollar, and if the rate cut were passed over, it would lead to a weaker yen and a stronger dollar. as a result.
The result was a press conference where they decided to pass over the rate cut. In short, the yen is weakening.
Please take a look at the image below.

This is the price movement of the dollar-yen today.
The circle indicates the timing when the press conference began.
From there, as the press conference progressed, the yen continued to weaken, and just before 8:00 PM, it rose to the 150 yen level. That is the situation.
Tomorrow's preview
I would like to end by giving a preview of tomorrow.
In tomorrow's note article, I will talk about:
・What moves I made due to this rapid weakening of the yen and reaching the major milestone of 150 yen.
・Trading status from this Monday to today, Thursday.
・Changes in total balance.
I would like to talk about these!
It is sure to be interesting content, so please look forward to the update!
I plan to post it around 18:00!
That's all for this emergency note.
See you again tomorrow.
Please check out my previous foreign currency trading diaries too!
