The Secret to Information Dissemination and Business Success Lies in 'Customer Empathy' | 'Money' vs. 'Customers'... Which Way Is Your Consciousness Vector Pointing?
◆ Which way is your 'consciousness vector' pointing?
When observing people engaged in business or information dissemination, I notice a 'decisive difference'.
It is not about ability or sense.
It is a much simpler matter.
Where is that person's consciousness vector pointing?
・Money?
・Customers?
This difference significantly determines that person's future.
◆ Two Mindsets
The mindsets of people engaged in business can be broadly divided into two types.
① The goal is to earn money and make oneself happy
How can I make money?
How can I make sales?
How can I earn efficiently?
In this case, the consciousness vector is pointing toward 'money' and 'self'.
② The goal is to make customers happy
How can I make them happy?
How can I provide value?
How can I improve the lives of customers (clients)?
In this case, the consciousness vector is pointing toward the 'customer' (client).
Which one succeeds?
I will start with the conclusion.
The one that succeeds is overwhelmingly the latter, ②.
◆ People open their hearts to those who value them
People like those who always care about them and treat them with importance.
This is the same in business.
This person is truly thinking about me.
This person is using their time and effort for my sake.
Why would this person go this far for me?
The moment they feel that, 'trust' is born.
Conversely...
This person is only thinking about money.
They only have selling on their mind.
Their attitude before and after the sale is completely different (the type that doesn't feed the fish once it's caught).
They seem condescending and arrogant.
The moment they feel that, people quietly drift away.
And what is worth noting is...
That it is something that 'oozes out' in every situation.
Writing, words and actions, attitude, behavior, the nuances of speech, the atmosphere, etc...
Customers are surprisingly sensitive to picking up on those things.
◆ The Ultimate Weapon: 'Customer Empathy'
What becomes important here is...
Customer Empathy = The power to think of the customer
This is a coined term I came up with, but it is not merely a technique.
How much can you think about the customer?
How seriously can you face the customer?
How much can you wish for the customer's happiness?
That is the 'depth'.
I will state this clearly here.
Without customer empathy, all knowledge and skills are rendered ineffective.
◆ No matter how talented you are, everything will come to 'nothing'
No matter how excellent your...
Business strategy
Marketing
Copywriting
Communication skills
you may acquire...
without customer empathy, they will only ever be 'mere superficial techniques.'
A person with only superficial techniques and no customer empathy will be seen through immediately.
And, naturally, you will not be chosen.
If 'customer empathy' is not at the foundation (base), all knowledge, skills, and techniques will come to nothing.
◆ Miyamoto's Dark History | I Was Completely a Type ① Person
I will speak honestly here.
In the past, I was completely a type ① person.
'How can I make money?'
'How can I become a billionaire?'
'How can I achieve overwhelming results that outdo other companies?'
That was all I could think about...
I read every business book of that kind I could find,
I attended every business seminar of that kind,
and I just kept chasing 'money'...
What was the result?
I reached 300 million yen in annual sales.
But my life did not change.
In fact, after that...
I fell into homelessness.
▼ The tragic story of how I fell into homelessness is recorded in the video below.
◆ The Encounter That Changed My Life | The Story with Mr. M
What changed my values 180 degrees was a certain incident with a fellow entrepreneur (a person named Mr. M) whom I have been close with for a long time.
At the time, Mr. M...
My business was at a standstill
on the verge of bankruptcy
and my family life was on the brink of collapse
That was the state I was in.
Since M and I had known each other for a long time, I proposed that I provide consulting services for free, for the sake of our old friendship.
The reason was simple.
M at that time reminded me of my former self, and I genuinely wanted to help him.
At that time, I had just recovered from being homeless, and honestly, I didn't have any financial leeway either.
But, strangely enough, at that moment...
I didn't think about money at all.
The only thing on my mind was...
How can I save M from this situation?
That was all.
◆ And the miracle that happened
As a result, M made a V-shaped recovery.
He avoided bankruptcy,
escaped family collapse,
and his business got back on track.
I still remember the scene from that time even now.
It was when we were drinking at an izakaya to celebrate his V-shaped recovery.
Perhaps helped by the alcohol, Mr. M suddenly broke down in tears in front of me...
"Thank you... thank you so much..."
He repeated these words of gratitude to me over and over again.
Then, four years later, Mr. M visited me...
"It's not much, but please accept this as a token of my appreciation for that time."
With those words, he placed a cash reward of 3 million yen right in front of me.
At that moment, I was convinced.
If you can shift your consciousness vector '100% toward the customer,' money will inevitably follow later....that is.
◆ When I stopped chasing money, my income increased more than 20-fold
Through the incident with Mr. M, I experienced for the first time the true power of 'customer-centricity'.
Until then, I was always thinking about how to earn money, how to make sales...
My head was constantly filled with thoughts of 'myself' and 'money'.
But after that event, a switch clearly flipped inside me.
"Direct your consciousness vector toward the customer"
And before I knew it, that had taken root as a 'natural' way of thinking for me.
So, what happened then...
My income became more than 20 times what it was before I fell into homelessness
I don't want you to misunderstand here; it's not that I changed my techniques.
I only changed one thing.
It is just the vector (direction) of your consciousness.
◆ Why does money run away when you chase it?
There is an old saying like this.
The more you chase money, the more it runs away.
Money follows you later.
Honestly, in the past, I used to think this.
"No way, that's just a platitude."
But now, I can say it clearly.
This is not a platitude.
It is the 'truth'.
Because customers instinctively sense it.
Whether this person's words and actions are..."for my sake" (in other words, altruism)
Or whether they are..."for their own profit" (in other words, selfishness)
That 'subtle difference'.
And...
People keep their distance from those who are chasing money,
and head toward those who truly value them...
That is the essence of human nature.
◆ It is an ironic story, but...
If you want to obtain money,
you must once distance yourself from money.
Instead...
Face the person in front of you sincerely.
Seriously consider the other person's results and happiness
Deliver 120% value
Beyond that accumulation...
Before I knew it, the money had followed 'afterward'...
I learned this not as a theory, but through my own life.
◆ The Golden Rule and the Magic of Something Extra
After recovering from homelessness, Napoleon Hill's philosophy of success became the guiding principle for my own way of life.
Among them, the following two principles had a major impact on my business.
■ Golden Rule
Do unto others what you would have them do unto you, above all else
■ The Magic of Something Extra
Provide service or support (cooperation/assistance) beyond what the other party expects or anticipates
What happens when 'Customer Empathy' is added to these two?Customer Empathy
'Wait, you've thought about me that much?'
'Wait, you're doing this much for me?'
'I've never had anyone value me this much before'
You become someone who is thought of in this way by others.
It can truly be called the 'ultimate' and 'strongest' success principle.
◆ Humans are creatures who can naturally give their best 'for the sake of others'
Humans are strange creatures; we can exert overwhelmingly more power 'for someone else' than we can 'for ourselves'.for someone else
For example...
Mothers with small children will sacrifice themselves to take action if it is for the sake of their child's happiness, even more than for their own happiness.
A boss with subordinates will only demonstrate true leadership when they act for the growth of their subordinates rather than for their own evaluation.
Athletes demonstrate performance that exceeds their limits the moment they think for the team, for my teammates, rather than when they are fighting only for themselves.
Even when you are tired, if a loved one is in trouble, you can strangely find the energy to act, even if you have no time.
Even in customer service, staff who think I want to make the customer in front of me happy will end up with higher sales than staff who are acting for the sake of sales.
These are powers that can never be produced by 'actions for oneself'.
In the same way, when you are chasing money versus when you are thinking of your customers...
the energy output is completely different.
This directly becomes the 'difference in results'.
I believe that this kind of spirit of altruism lies dormant within everyone.
Yes, of course, within you too...
It is a great power dormant within human beings that blossoms from 'one trigger' (in my case, the matter with Mr. M), just like it did for me in the past.
If you think that the 'spirit of altruism' has not yet sprouted in you...
First, try thoroughly supporting just one person, even if it means disregarding profit and casting aside cost-benefit calculations.
If you can see that through to the end and receive a word of thanks from the other person, your 'altruism' switch should turn on.
◆ People who are weeded out, people who survive
In the coming era...
People who prioritize only efficiency and productivity
People who only think about squeezing out money
People who possess a selfish spirit (egoism)
will certainly be weeded out.
What remains is...
someone who thinks of their customers more than anyone else
and can take action for the sake of their customers' happiness... that is who.
◆ Miyamoto's Values | What I Cherish
I...
How can I make money?
How can I become successful?
How can I become famous?
Rather than focusing on these perspectives, I focus on how I can make the readers, customers, and clients in front of me happy.
And rather than 'how much I have earned,' how many people I have made happy as my success metric.
Earn more than anyone else
Succeed more than anyone else
Become more famous than anyone else
Rather than...
I want to be someone who can think of their customers more than anyone else.
Rather than being No. 1 in sales or No. 1 in popularity, 'No. 1 in Customer-Centricity' is what I want to be.
Thankfully...
'I have never had anyone who cared about me and supported me this much before'
...I sometimes receive words like that.
Such feedback is the greatest reward for me.
◆ The Reason Miyamoto 'Continues to Learn'
The reason I continue to learn also lies entirely here.
Self-investment for acquiring qualifications, knowledge, and skills is never about 'making myself look good'.
It is to remain a 'useful presence' for the customers and clients in front of me, and to continue being 'someone who can deliver the highest value'.
It comes down to that one point.
I have no money
I have no time
I don't feel the need for self-investment that much right now
I understand the feelings of those who think that way.
But this is what I think.
Aren't those excuses just a way to look away from the 'responsibility of delivering the highest value to the person in front of you'?
Learn for the sake of the customer
Hone skills for the sake of the customer
Continue to evolve for the sake of the customer
Whether or not you can hold this consciousness determines your capacity as a communicator.
No matter how much AI evolves, it cannot replace 'human feelings'.
That is precisely why...
Who do you learn for, and who do you grow for?
Only those who can answer this question with pride...
To become a communicator, entrepreneur, and business owner who continues to be chosen in the coming era.
I am convinced of this.
◆ Information dissemination should also be 'reader-vector' oriented
When you are disseminating information...
Wanting to increase your follower count
Wanting to be called an influencer
Wanting to become famous and be pampered
...It is natural for these feelings to arise.
These are all human desires, and there is nothing wrong with them in themselves.
However...
The moment you are pulled too much by those desires, the 'quality' of your communication and your 'reputation' will definitely decline.
Because...
Communication where the vector is pointed at 'yourself'
will eventually reveal its 'shallowness and superficiality'.
Readers are sensitive.
Is this person writing for their own sake?
Or are they writing for the sake of the reader?
They can sense that difference from deep within the words.
So, what should you do?
The answer is simple.
Direct your vector 100% toward the 'reader'.
In other words...
What should you write so that the reader becomes 120% happy?
To achieve that, how should you 'be'?
What is currently missing in you?
It is to keep thinking from this perspective.
◆ Who is your content for?
Let me ask you one question here.
Who is that content of yours for?
Is it to satisfy your own need for approval?
Is it to increase your followers?
Is it to earn money?
Or...
Is it to make the one person right in front of you truly happy?
If you can choose the latter, your content will definitely change.
And as a result...
It gets read
It gets empathized with
It gets trusted
It gets chosen
A flow is created where, and with every piece you write, your text takes on'heat', is infused with'spirit', and becomes inhabited by'soul'... It becomes something one-of-a-kind that AI can never imitate.
◆ Everything boils down to this
Just one last thing.
Up until now, I have lined up all sorts of idealistic words, but in the end, even I myself am...
a bundle of desire for approval (lol).
However, the way I satisfy that desire has changed.
It is not about money, fame, or titles...
'Thank you'
'Thanks to you'
'I'm so glad I met you'
It is no exaggeration to say that I live to receive these'words'and'smiles'of joy from my clients.
This is the ultimate reward that satisfies my own 'desire for approval'.
◆ Which way is your vector pointing?
Money?
Customers?
That choice will determine your future.
Who will this message make happy?
Whose life will this product change?
Who will this action be useful to?
Before thinking about efficiency, productivity, and money, let's cultivate'the power to think of the customer' (customer-centricity).
Please remember just one last thing.
'Information dissemination and business to satisfy yourself' will end in the short term.
'Information dissemination and business to satisfy someone else' will last a lifetime.
Which one will you choose?
