[3-Minute Essay] The probability of earning without facing rivals is less than 2%

Usually, it is a relief when your rivals are weak.

This is especially true when the distinction between winning and losing is clear.

The weaker your opponent, the higher your chances of winning.

This is often particularly evident in career advancement, games, sports, and so on.

However, if you want to earn money on note, you should discard this way of thinking.

By the way, I have exceeded 8 figures in annual revenue from note alone for three consecutive years since 2023.

Normally, when you are earning money, it is better not to teach others how you do it.

It goes without saying that your rivals will increase, and you might even have your customers stolen by the people you taught and who imitated you.

So, why am I teaching this? I have already achieved FIRE and have enough assets that I don't mind if my note sales disappear.

In fact, as I have written in my articles several times, my revenue from YouTube and other sources remains more than three times that of note.

That said, even if my income from YouTube and other sources were to disappear, I no longer have any worries about money for my living expenses.

It would be tacky to state my exact assets, so I will avoid doing so, but it is not at the level of winning the year-end jumbo lottery.

(I do have a rough idea, but since some of it is invested or liquid, there are parts where even I cannot grasp the exact amount.)

When I talk about things like this, people who ask, "Why do you earn money when you don't have to worry about it?" always pop up.

Now, let's get to the main topic.

Are you familiar with the terms red ocean and blue ocean in business?

Ocean means the sea (not that I, a graduate of a bottom-tier high school, should be the one to say it😅), but a red ocean means a "sea stained red with blood."

In other words, it refers to a state where there are many rivals and it is quite difficult to earn money.

Conversely, a blue ocean refers to a situation where there is little competition or it is an untapped market, making it very easy to make a profit in business.

Unfortunately, many people aim for a blue ocean.

However, this very often leads to failure.

There are several clear reasons for this.

The first is that it almost never stays a blue ocean.

If people think, "That looks profitable," people who will imitate it or try to earn money using a similar method will inevitably appear.

Then, what was once a blue ocean instantly turns into a red ocean.

Except for fields that no one can imitate, it is better to assume that even if you manage to become a pioneer, it is rare to remain unimitated by anyone.

Secondly, people jump in thinking it is a blue ocean because no one is there.

Unfortunately, this is very common and easily leads to failure.

Those who think that because no one is there, it is an uncharted territory and therefore good because there are few rivals, need to be especially careful.

Of course, the possibility is not zero, but in terms of probability, it is not even 5%.

It is difficult to give an exact number, but it is probably on the high side if it is 2%.

What this means is that there is a very high possibility that someone has already explored it but withdrew because they did not get results.

For example, even if you think about it in terms of note, if you consider the probability of coming up with a profitable method that only you have thought of and no one else is doing, with over 10 million registered users, you should be able to imagine it to some extent.

If there were about 100 people, you might be the only one to think of it.

It is natural that the possibility becomes infinitely low once you reach 1,000 people.

By the way, the official note announcement says that it has exceeded 12 million people.

In other words, it might be easier to understand if you think of it as roughly the same as the population of Tokyo.

Let's assume, just in case, that you happened to hit a blue ocean.

Even then, it would likely be imitated immediately, so it would turn into a red ocean in the blink of an eye.

(Unless it's something that 100% only you can do in this world, it's impossible.)

Red oceans are no good, but aiming for a blue ocean is also difficult to earn from; this is the same on note.

You don't have to believe me, but unless you cultivate the ability to discern whether a field has already been abandoned by pioneers, it's difficult to earn money on note.
