Figures that Suit a Dark Dragon | The Names of Succulents are Too Chunibyo! Episode 3
Ever since I welcomed the Dark Dragon, I haven't been able to settle down. I thought the hobby of growing plants would be more peaceful. I imagined waking up in the morning, checking the leaves, and making sure the soil was dry. I thought I'd feel a little happy when a new sprout appeared. I imagined a life of such tranquility.
However, in reality, after I welcomed the Dark Dragon into an empty Morozoff glass, it wasn't gardening that started in my head, but nation-building.

Dark Dragon
Cherry Dragon
Spineless Crown Dragon
When you line up these names, they are exactly the kind of characters that appear in the mid-to-late stages of an RPG. They are the type of beings that the protagonist accidentally unseals during their journey, only for the village elder to say, "What have you done..." Despite this, their temporary home is an empty Morozoff glass.
The dragons live in that transparent container I kept after finishing the pudding because it felt like a waste to throw it away. The worldview just doesn't match. It's like an executive of the Demon King's army sitting seiza-style in a box of cookies bought at a department store basement.
This won't do. Deciding that I had to set the world right before watering the plants, I headed to Akihabara on my day off.
Normally, one would first look for a pot that suits a succulent. Ceramic pots, tin pots, antique-style pots. I know that is the correct order, but I have a Dark Dragon at home. Before a pot, I need "figures" to serve as companions. Finding the Four Heavenly Kings before building the castle walls had become the most important task in nation-building.

When I entered the Radio Kaikan, my eyes were completely giddy. While gazing at the figures lined up on the shelves, I began a review process that no one had asked for: "Is this worthy of being a vassal to the Dark Dragon?" or "Can this compete for hegemony at this size?"
The first thing I thought of was Dragon Quest.

When you think of dragons, you think of Dragon Quest. This is almost a national common sense. However, when I saw the real thing, a problem immediately arose.
...The Slime is huge.
If a Slime larger than the Dark Dragon were to stand next to it, the master-servant relationship would be reversed. I must avoid a situation where the Dark Dragon, whom I welcomed as an executive of the Demon King's army, ends up looking like a rare houseplant kept by a Slime.
Next, I looked at Pokémon.

If it's a Re-Ment mini-figure, the size is not bad. A small patch of grass, a small rocky area, a small world. It seems like it would go well with succulents. But the problem was that you couldn't choose what was inside.
What I want is a Dragon-type. But if I open the box, there's a possibility that Pikachu will come out. Pikachu is cute, but if you line them up as Dark Dragon, Cherry Dragon, Spineless Crown Dragon, Pikachu, Pikachu, Pikachu, it looks less like a dragon kingdom and more like a construction site before electrical work. A potted plant where I'm more worried about electrical leakage than watering is hard to appreciate calmly.
I also considered Gundam.

The ruggedness of a mobile suit wouldn't lose out even if placed next to the Dark Dragon. But if you think about it calmly, there is no Dark Dragon in Side 7. No matter how many times you flip through the Universal Century timeline, a succulent-type dragon sealed in a Morozoff glass never appears. Forcing a Dark Dragon into that world is like Char riding a Zeong from the very beginning.
I also went into Kaiyodo.

When I found an AKIRA figure there, my heart wavered. A devastated city, runaway power, signs of the apocalypse. It doesn't go poorly with the Dark Dragon, but as I stared at it, a sense of discomfort emerged. The world of AKIRA is a world that was destroyed after humanity tried its best. The Dark Dragon hasn't done anything yet. It's just sunbathing occasionally in a glass that still has the lingering scent of pudding.
It's still too inexperienced in life to bear the burden of decadence. The fact that I'm seeking life experience in a succulent means I've already gone quite far.
I also looked at gachapon.

When I was looking for a dragon, a silver dragon came out. It had wings, breathed fire from its mouth, and looked very strong. However, it just wasn't right. Rather than a dragon, it was a creature where a middle school boy's idea of "cool" had crystallized in the corner of a room. It had a face that looked like it would be hanging next to a wooden sword at a school trip souvenir shop. It's too assertive to be a companion to the Dark Dragon.
I left the place quietly without spinning anything.
After a long journey, I finally bought Goku at Book Off. And it's Goku using Instant Transmission. I don't even know why that happened. I was supposed to be looking for a companion that would suit the Dark Dragon, but before I knew it, I had teleported a warrior from Planet Yardrat.
When I returned home and placed Goku next to the Dark Dragon in the Morozoff glass, it wasn't bad at all. In fact, Goku, with his sandstone-statue-like coloring, neutralized the heaviness of the dragon. The problem is that no one can explain what world this is. It's not Dragon Quest. It's not Pokémon. It's not Gundam. It's not AKIRA. It's just that a Dark Dragon and Goku are standing side by side.

I watched that scene for a while. I went to Akihabara and found the figures. But the crucial pot has yet to be found. It seems that what is difficult about the world of succulents is how to land the grand story that started in your head onto the soil.
The Dark Dragons are still living in the Morozoff glass today. And Goku is standing there, ready to use Instant Transmission at any moment. The one who wants to escape this tiny kingdom as soon as possible is Goku, who is suffering from the lingering scent of pudding.
