The Unyielding One
I hear a cute voice and look up.
It is a quiet afternoon at work.
It happened right after my break.
High up on the building wall,
in a corner where no one passes by,
a swallow's nest had been completed before I knew it,
and chicks were peeking out.
that I previously wrote an article about,
detailing its struggle with humans
over its nesting site; it has finally
built its home here.
Despite experiencing the hardship of having its nests removed
every time it chose a spot that got in people's way,
it never gave up or lost heart,
and finally managed to avoid
conflict with humans.
Bravo! Oh, swallow!
Here, it won't be removed,
and it should be able to finish raising its chicks safely.
Every day during my lunch break,
I am happy to have the joy of watching
the chicks grow again this year ☺️
or rather, it's too high to even reach for removal.
