After the Werewolf Meetup, I Expected an Internet Cafe but Ended Up in a Hotel. [Part 2]
*This is a continuation of the previous part.
Waiting at the meeting spot was a woman in her early 20s with long blonde hair and flashy clothes.
She looked like someone who worked in the nightlife industry.
Honestly, she was much flashier than I had imagined.
But what left an even bigger impression was the sense of distance.
It was close.
Even though we hadn't even started talking yet, just being there made the atmosphere feel relaxed, or rather, I didn't feel any strange barriers.
There was a faint, sweet scent of perfume, and at that point, I was already a little self-conscious.
---
"Hello, are you waiting for someone?"
When I asked, trying to probe a little, Pino-chan looked up from her phone and stared at me with a blank expression for a moment.
When I said, "I'm Urao," her expression completely broke into a smile, and she said, "Nice to meet you! I really got to meet you!!"
She was more energetic than I expected, and the distance between us closed in an instant.
It was exactly the same impression I had from our phone call, but meeting her in person, she seemed even more "used to dealing with people."
She made good eye contact and had big reactions.
At this point, I thought, "This girl is definitely popular with guys."
---
On the way to the shop, our conversation flowed so naturally that it didn't feel like we were meeting for the first time.
If anything, she was the one leading, and I was just going along with it.
Sometimes she would walk close enough that our arms would lightly brush, and I couldn't tell if it was intentional or unconscious, but it made me strangely aware of her.
---
When we arrived at the shop, everyone was already there.
Six men and three women. The age range was mostly 30s to 40s.
Only Pino-chan and I were clearly younger.
Taka-san, the leader, looked like a typical elite salaryman.
After a brief self-introduction, the game started.
During that time, I found out that Pino-chan was a hostess.
Given her appearance and the way she handled personal space, it made perfect sense.
---
The game was actually fun.
I was nervous at first, but after a few rounds, the atmosphere softened, and I was able to talk normally.
Before I knew it, it was past 11:00 PM.
It was time for one person to leave due to the last train, and the group started to break up.
---
On the way back to the station, I found myself walking side-by-side with Pino-chan.
Unlike the lively atmosphere from earlier, it was a bit quieter.
I noticed her looking at her phone, so I asked, "Will you make it for the last train?"
---
"I was thinking of staying at an internet cafe."
"Actually, I came all the way from Nagoya."
"I didn't want to make you worry, so I didn't say anything..."
---
With those words, a switch flipped in my head.
She wasn't planning on going home.
Everything suddenly became very realistic.
"This is a real possibility."
At the same time, I was impressed that she had come all the way from Nagoya for a first-time meetup, but I was also a little taken aback.
---
But at the same time, there was a part of me that was holding back, thinking, "No, surely that wouldn't happen on a first meeting."
I hesitated for a moment, but then I tried to nudge her a little by saying, "Internet cafes are often full at this hour, you know."
---
"Oh, really?"
She looked a bit troubled.
Seeing that reaction, I became certain.
It was possible.
---
After a few seconds of silence, I just said, "Want to go for a drink until morning?"
As naturally as possible.
An invitation that left her an escape route.
---
"Oh, I don't want to trouble you."
I knew from that response.
It wasn't a complete rejection.
If anything, she was testing the waters.
---
"It would be a problem if the internet cafe was full, wouldn't it? If you're okay with it, Pino-chan, let's go."
I intentionally pushed by putting myself in the position of asking her.
---
A brief silence.
Our eyes met.
---
"Okay, let's do that."
---
In that moment, the outcome was decided.
---
We parted ways with the others and started walking together.
The distance between us was a little closer than before.
We were talking, but there was an atmosphere where we were both aware of each other.
---
I asked as we walked.
"Are you tired?"
---
"I was sightseeing since the afternoon, so just a little."
---
With that one sentence, the switch was completely flipped.
I had a reason for a "place to rest."
---
Before I knew it, we were heading toward the love hotel district.
And just then, the "Vacant" sign lit up.
The timing was almost too perfect.
---
"Oh, this one is vacant."
I said it casually on purpose.
---
"Oh..."
Pino-chan stopped for a moment.
But she didn't look like she hated the idea.
If anything, she seemed hesitant.
---
"If you're tired, you can rest properly. I think it's better than looking for an internet cafe now."
---
A few seconds of silence.
Neither of us said anything.
But that atmosphere said everything.
---
Pino-chan was the one who started walking first.
---
Just like that, without saying a word, we both went inside.
---
That night, we didn't talk about Werewolf at all.
---
We spent the next day together as well, did some light sightseeing, and then parted ways.
---
After that, we met up at games and meetups several times, and before I knew it, we were in a relationship where we would contact each other and naturally end up going to a hotel.
---
At first, it was just a connection through a hobby.
But, whether or not you take that one small step changes everything.
---
If I had turned her down back then, I don't think this relationship would exist.
