If you believe that ClueBot NG has missed an edit that is vandalism, again do not report it here. ClueBot is unable to catch all vandalism. Just revert the edit and warn the editor.

Possible typo in documentation?
I was just reading about what cluebot does and came across these sentences. Now I am quite tired, and new here, but it seems like perhaps someone made an edit and accidentally left the sponge in when they stitched up the patient?
"A human selects a false positive rate, which is the percentage of constructive edits incorrectly classified as vandalism. A threshold is calculated to have a false positive rate at or below this percentage, while maximizing catch rate. False positive rate is set by a human, and the bot stays at or below that false positive rate, while catching as much vandalism as possible. The false positive rate is not fixed, but is adjustable."
Am I reading that correctly? I don't mean to accuse anyone of anything, and am not even sure my hunch is correct. 183u1nmcke (talk) 06:53, 1 October 2026 (UTC)
- This seems to the edit which put the text into the form you quoted. I'm unclear on what aspect of the quote you thought was a typo or other problem. I will note that the paragraph seems to be overly repetitive in several ways. -- R. S. Shaw (talk) 06:59, 7 October 2026 (UTC)
ClueBot keeps tagging some pages for deletion then recreating them
Not sure what's going on...

- No clue why it's misbehaving, but hopefully this will fix it. Can someone check if it's actually a u1-requested deletion or just it blanking the page? I know CB3 will commonly blank user pages of indices, especially if they're not quite pointing in the right place, but I've never seen it directly request deletion before. - Thank you! The bot is actually requesting U1 deletion, replacing the contents of the page with a db-u1 template and the edit summary "Removing old index page. (BOT)". DanCherek (talk) 11:11, 7 October 2026 (UTC)
- Weird that it only got around to requesting U1 now, considering the page in question has been broken for over 2 years. If it turns out this is some recent new change to clear up some of the past pages, there might be a lot of this deletion and creation loop (I keep track somewhere of a list of pages with an incorrectly-pointed archive), so if you see this coming up elsewhere, I can force myself to look at that sooner rather than later. - Looking at the bot's deleted contributions, it seems like these are the only 5 pages that have been glitching recently. It does a lot of this cleanup and tagging old archive pages with U1 on a regular basis, but the other ones look like they're working properly and aren't being recreated.
