Libhošť (German: Liebisch) is a municipality and village in Nový Jičín District in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,800 inhabitants.
Libhošť lies approximately 5 kilometres (3 mi) northeast of Nový Jičín, 27 km (17 mi) southwest of Ostrava, and 268 km (167 mi) east of Prague.
History
[edit]The first written mention of Libhošť is from 1411, however the village maybe existed already in 1230.[2]
In 1976, Libhošť was joined to Nový Jičín. On 1 January 2011, it separated from Nový Jičín and became again an independent municipality.[2][3]
