Clement Halaholo (born 22 September 2003) is an Australian rugby union player, who plays for the Waratahs in the Super Rugby and Southland in the New Zealand National Provincial Championship (NPC). His preferred position is lock or flanker.[3]

Early career

[edit]

Halaholo was born in Sydney.[4] He attended Waverley College where he first played rugby.[5] In his youth, Halaholo also played rugby league, being in the Sydney Roosters academy.[6][7] He plays his club rugby for Sydney University,[8] and studied business at the International Sports College and works on construction.[9] He was named as a later call-up to the Junior Wallabies in 2023, although he did not make an appearance.[10]

Career

[edit]

Halaholo was named in the Waratahs squad ahead of the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific season,[11] however he did not make an appearance and in June 2025 was released by the side. He was later named in the Waratahs squad for the 2025 Super Rugby AUS competition,[12] having a break out competition.[13] He scored three tries in all three of his appearances,[14] including the grand final, for which he was named Man of the Match.[15] Halaholo was also named in the inaugural Team of the Year.[16]

After starting both trial games ahead of the 2026 Super Rugby Pacific season, Halaholo was named to start against the Reds in round one,[17] scoring a try on debut.[18] In June 2026, Halaholo signed a one-year contract extension with the Waratahs.[19]

Following the end of the 2026 Super Rugby season, Halaholo signed for the Southland Stags in New Zealand's National Provincial Championship (NPC) for their 2026 season.[20] Being named as the starting blindside flanker,[21] Halaholo scored a try on debut, coming in the 33rd minute of the opening round.[22] Southland lost their opening match to arch-rivals Otago in what was their 250th matchup.[21][22]

Personal life

[edit]

Halaholo enjoys music and plays the piano, learning throughout 2022.[23] Halaholo is the cousin of National Rugby League (NRL) player and Cook Islands representative Davvy Moale.[6]
