The Samsung Galaxy A8s was launched in China late last year, bringing the new Infinity-O display design to Samsung's lineup. This was the first device from Samsung to come with a punch hole display, as well as the first in the A-series to come with an LCD and to skip the headphone jack. The Galaxy A8s was subsequently rebranded as the Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro and launched in regions like South Korea.

Now, Samsung has added new gradient color designs for the Galaxy A8s in China, as spotted by tipster @UniverseIce.

The new color gradients come in a Yellow-Pink and Pink-Blue combination. The gradient is obviously present on the back of the device, but the color also makes its way to the sideframe as well as the frame which is visible on the front. The colors do look very good, though we would prefer having more varied options instead of a repeating color in the two color options.

Samsung is no stranger to gradient colors, as we have seen phones in the past sporting some attractive combinations. The Samsung Galaxy A9 was launched with gradient color options, while the flagships Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ also received some gradient love in the form of a Polaris Blue color option. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ are also expected in a few gradient color options.

Other OEMs have also taken to gradients to add another touch of style to their phones, with a string of releases in 2018 and 2019 so far that feature this new trend. Just to name a few, we have had the OnePlus 6T with a Thunder Purple variant; the Honor 10 Lite with Gradient Blue and Gradient Red colors; the Oppo K1 with an Astral Blue gradient color;and the Vivo Y89 with a blue-purple color gradient. For the future, devices like the Vivo V15 Pro will come in a Gradient Blue, and Black-Red gradient; while the Huawei P30 is expected in a green-blue color gradient. I personally do prefer strong, well-executed gradients over a solid color option, and I can certainly get behind this trend.
