A Windows-based Java development system from Microsoft. Visual J++ was used to create Java applications that ran on any platform or to create Windows-specific applications that called ActiveX components or Windows directly. Visual J++ also included a Java compiler. The upgrade path for Visual J++ was J# for .NET, but J# was dropped in Visual Studio 2008. See J#.
