Error description

  • A CICS 6.2 region was getting an abend 0C4/AKEA at offset
X'FFFF' in module DFHSOSE. The problem did happen at a very
early stage of the initialisation, when module CSFINLP2 + X'52E'
    has called into DFHEIP.

DFHEIP has suffered an 0C4 because the EXEC CICS call was made
on the SO TCB which is not enabled for EXEC CICS calls.

Based on the ICSF support response it was determined that the
system must have CICSAUDIT(YES) set in their ICSF options. That
setting is going to cause the CSFIQF2 call that CICS makes on
the SO TCB to invoke the ISCF TRUE. The TRUE makes EXEC CICS
calls, which are never going to work on the SO TCB. CICS can't
prevent customers from using CICSAUDIT(YES) so CICS needs to do
something different to avoid this problem.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ABEND0C4/AKEA at offset X'FFFF' in      *
    * module DFHSOSE During CICS startup. *
    ****************************************************************
CICS suffers an 0C4 abend, reported at offset X'FFFF' in
    DFHSOSE.
Examination of a dump taken for the abend shows that
CICS has called the ICSF service routine CSFIQF2 which then
caused the ICSF Task Related User Exit (TRUE) named CSFATRUE
to call into DFHEIP while running on the SO TCB.
DFHEIP is unable to process calls on the SO TCB and therefore
    abends.

Problem conclusion

  • CICS has been changed to avoid calling the ICSF service
routine CSFIQF2 when determining whether ICSF is active or not.
