Animations make text, images, shapes, and other objects appear, move, or disappear on a slide. They help guide the audience’s attention and make your presentation more engaging.
Steps to Apply an Animation
Step 1: Select the text box, image, shape, or object you want to animate.

Step 2: Go to the Animations tab on the ribbon.

Step 3: In the Animation gallery, choose an effect:
- Green icons: Entrance effects (object appears)

- Yellow icons: Emphasis effects (object is highlighted)

- Red icons: Exit effects (object disappears)

- Motion Paths: Object moves along a path

Step 4: Click Effect Options (if available) to change the direction or style of the animation(only for Motion Path).

A small number appears next to the object showing the animation order.

Animate Text One Line at a Time (Build Effect)
Step 1: Select the text box that contains a bulleted or numbered list.

Step 2: Apply an Entrance animation.

Step 3: Click Effect Options → choose By Paragraph.

Each bullet point will now appear one by one when you click during the presentation.
Control When the Animation Starts
On the Animations tab, in the Timing group( also visible in slideshow view):
- Start: On Click: Animation plays when you click.

- Start: With Previous: Plays at the same time as the previous animation.

- Start: After Previous: Plays immediately after the previous animation finishes.

- Duration: Controls how long the animation lasts.

- Delay: Adds a pause before the animation begins.

Apply Multiple Animations to the Same Object
Step 1: Select the object.
Step 2: On the Animations tab, click Add Animation (do not click a new effect in the main gallery, or it will replace the existing one).

Step 3: Choose another effect.

Step 4: Open the Animation Pane to see and reorder all effects.

Preview and Manage Animations
- Click Preview on the Animations tab to see the effects.

- Click Animation Pane to view the full list of animations on the slide, change their order, or adjust timing.
