Adding slide timings and narrations allows your presentation to run automatically with your voice recorded. This is useful for self-running shows, online sharing, or converting the presentation into a video.
1. Record Narration and Timings Together
Step 1: Go to the Slide Show tab.
Step 2: Click Record (or Record Slide Show).

Step 3: Choose Record from Beginning or Record from Current Slide.

Step 4: In the recording window:
- Make sure your microphone is enabled.
- (Optional) Turn on the camera if you want video narration.
- Click the red Record button and start speaking.
Step 5: Advance through the slides at your preferred pace (click or use arrow keys).

Step 6: Use the pen, highlighter, or laser pointer if you want those actions recorded.
Step 7: When finished, click Stop and close the recording window.
PowerPoint automatically saves both the narration and the timing for each slide.
2. Rehearse Timings Only (No Narration)
Step 1: Go to the Slide Show tab click on Rehearse Timings.

Step 2: Practice advancing through the slides.
Step 3: When you finish, PowerPoint asks if you want to save the timings. Click Yes.

3. Set Slide Timings Manually
Step 1: Select a slide.

Step 2: Go to the Transitions tab.

Step 3: In the Timing group:
