UKG Interview Experience for 6 Month SDE-Intern + PPO

Last Updated : 11 Sep, 2025

Screening

This was an on-campus drive. The initial screening was based on CGPA with a cutoff of 7.0. All branches were allowed to participate. I cleared this stage successfully.

Online Assessment (OA)

The online test was 1 hour long and had 20 questions.

  • 19 MCQs focused on core CS subjects: OOPS, DBMS and SQL.
  • 1 DSA problem: We were asked to find the square of minimum area that contains at least `k` given coordinates, provided as two arrays of x- and y-coordinates.

This problem was medium to above-medium in difficulty for me, mainly because I had never seen such a question before, but I managed to solve it. Some candidates received easier DSA problems, while others got harder ones. Importantly, selection depended on accuracy across all 20 questions, not just the DSA problem.

Out of roughly 350–400 participants in the OA round, only 16 were selected for interviews.

Round 1 – Technical Interview 1

The first technical round focused on my projects and tech stack. The interviewer went into my stacks deeply, especially React and Node, asking core questions. I was also given two DSA problems:

  • Circular path in a matrix
  • Longest palindromic substring

This interview went well; I was able to answer everything confidently.

Round 2 – Technical Interview 2

The second technical round was different. The interviewer asked about SQL and MongoDB in detail and did not ask much about my tech stacks. Two DSA questions were also asked in this round. This round did not go as well for me, and I was eliminated after it.

Further Rounds

After Round 2, there was supposed to be a director round and then an HR round for shortlisted candidates. I did not progress to these stages.

My Advice

Be sure to have in-depth knowledge of every single word written in your resume. Interviewers can and often will ask detailed questions about anything you mention.
