In September 2024, LTIMindtree visited our college for placements, offering a three-round selection process: Online Assessment, Technical Interview, and HR Interview. Here’s a detailed breakdown of my experience:
Timeline of Events
- Online Assessment: 8th September 2024
- Technical Interview: 25th November 2024
- HR Interview: 4th December 2024
- Result: 27th December 2024
1st Round: Online Assessment (120 Minutes)
This round consisted of six sections, each focusing on different areas. The total test duration was 120 minutes, and candidates had 24 hours to complete it.
Sections
- English Comprehension: 15 minutes
- Logical Ability: 15 minutes
- Quantitative Ability: 15 minutes
- Computer Programming: 35 minutes
- Computer Science: 20 minutes
- Spoken English: 20 minutes
Preparation Tips
- Practice aptitude questions thoroughly.
- Focus on core subjects such as DBMS, OS, Networks, OOPs, and Data Structures.
- Scoring above the cut-off marks (varies by location) is essential to advance to the next round.
2nd Round: Technical Interview (In-Person)
After almost two months, I received an email for the Technical Interview, which was initially planned online but later shifted to an offline mode at LTIMindtree's office.
Duration: Approximately 30 minutes
Experience: The interviewer was friendly and made me feel comfortable.
Questions Asked
General Questions:
- Where are you currently staying?
- Tell me about your family.
- What is your favorite programming language? (I said Python and Java)
- Rate yourself in Python and Java out of 10.
Coding Problems:
- Reverse the digits of a number.
- Print the following pattern:

Sand a list of wordsarr, count the number of occurrences of each word inS.
Example: - Input:

Conceptual Questions:
- Difference between program and process.
- Difference between list and array.
- Difference between list and tuple.
- If a tuple is immutable, can we add new elements? If yes, how?
- Do you know file handling in Python?
- Difference between traditional programming and machine learning.
- When is machine learning primarily used?
Favorite Subject (DBMS):
- Rate yourself in DBMS.
SQL Question:
- Two tables,
A(students’ current data) andB(updated student data), are given. Find the names of students who left the school.
General Question:
- What new technology would you like to learn after this?
- Any questions for me?
Preparation Tips
- Be confident and stay calm during the interview.
- For coding problems:
- Start with the brute force approach.
- Only optimize if asked explicitly.
- Show your problem-solving process, even if you don’t know the exact solution.
- Focus on searching and sorting algorithms and their complexities.
- Be ready for questions based on your resume and projects.
3rd Round: HR Interview (Online)
This round lasted 5–7 minutes and was more conversational than technical.
Questions Asked
- Tell me about yourself (excluding projects).
- Why did you choose your college?
- Tell me about your hobbies. (I mentioned watching movies.)
- What movie have you watched recently?
- Tell me more about that movie.
- Have you faced any challenging situations, and how did you handle them?
- Define yourself in three words.
- Are you flexible with relocation?
- Any questions for me?
Preparation Tips
- Answer confidently and be mindful of what you say, as follow-up questions might be based on your answers.
- Carefully choose hobbies that you can discuss in detail.
Result: SELECTED!
After months of effort, I was thrilled to be selected by LTIMindtree. This experience was not just about securing a job but also about learning and growing.
General Tips for Aspirants
- Practice Core Subjects: Strengthen your fundamentals in DBMS, OS, Networks, OOPs, and Data Structures.
- Aptitude and Coding: Be thorough with aptitude and coding problems, including arrays and strings.
- Resume Mastery: Be confident about the skills and projects listed on your resume.
- Stay Confident: Even if you’re unable to answer some questions, maintain your composure and show your thought process.
