JIO Interview Experience | On Campus

Last Updated : 18 Jun, 2024

Getting a good placement is something that everyone wants. Everyone has huge expectations for "on-campus interviews" because they are less crowded as compared to off-campus interviews, and the chances of selection are also very high.

In this article, I will recount my on-campus interview experience for JIO, sharing insights, challenges, and lessons learned along the way.

Various rounds were conducted during my interview :

  1. coding round
  2. Group Discussion
  3. Interview round

Preparations :

Interviews are conducted on various rounds in which both technical and communication skills are required. Even in today's trends in the interview process, recruiters give more importance to communication skills than technical ones.

So, while preparing for your technical skills, also work on improving your communication skills. Most of us have a mother tongue other than English, and it is common to face problems delivering your thoughts in English. To save yourself from such situations, you have to make your vocabulary, frequency, and grammar strong, and this can be achieved by practicing a lot.

Here are some important topics to focus on during interview preparation, especially for technical roles in the tech industry:

  1. Data Structures
  2. Algorithms
  3. Problem solving
  4. System design
  5. Object-oriented programming (OOP)
  6. Operating system
  7. Database Management Systems (DBMS)
  8. Networking
  9. Software Engineering
  10. Behavioural and soft skills
  11. Company-specific Knowledge

I began by thoroughly reviewing data structures, algorithms, and coding problems commonly asked in technical interviews. Websites like GeeksforGeeks and LeetCode became my constant companions as I tackled a myriad of problems and honed my problem-solving abilities.

Additionally, I participated in mock interviews organised by my university's career services department and sought feedback from peers and mentors. These practice sessions not only improved my technical proficiency but also boosted my confidence in articulating solutions under pressure.

The Interview Day:

The technical rounds delved into algorithmic problem-solving and coding challenges. I was presented with a variety of problems, ranging from array manipulation to graph algorithms. Despite encountering some unfamiliar scenarios, I maintained composure and approached each problem methodically, explaining my thought process along the way.

Conclusion:

The on-campus interview experience was a transformative journey that propelled me one step closer to my dream career in the tech industry. While the road ahead may be challenging, I am grateful for the opportunity to showcase my skills, learn from seasoned professionals, and embark on this exciting chapter of my professional journey.
