Genesis Technologies (Software Development) Interview Experience

Genesis Technologies arrived at our College for a Software Development role.

Online Test

The online test had three sections :

Aptitude: There were 60 questions to be solved in 60 minutes. The aptitude questions ranged from easy to medium. The questions were based on Clock, Calendar, Time Work, etc. Those who cleared the cut-off moved to the next section.

English: Its duration was 30 minutes and I needed to answer 2 questions with a 200-word essay. The first question was "Wise words from your school principal" and "Tribes of India". I cleared this section too.

Coding: There was a coding question related to arrays I don't exactly remember it but I passed 7/10 test cases and cleared this online assessment round.

Technical Round 1

This was a pen-paper round where we had to code 2 out of 3 given programs on paper.

Q2. Coin exchange problem.

The result was anounced within half an hour and I appeared for Technical Round 2.

Technical Round 2

This was face to face technical interview which lasted for an hour. I was asked to explain my project, database and frontend used. I was asked some questions related to Java , MySQL and Flutter as these technologies were mentioned in my resume.

  • List 10 methods used with Arrays in Java
  • List 10 methods used with String in Java.
  • A program related to String was asked which checked my thorough knowledge of the concept. For example : Concatenate 2 string then replace the vowels with given character, remove spaces and so on.
  • I was asked to write some SQL queries, one can practice the most populare MySQL queries here.
  • Differentiate between DBMS and RDBMS
  • Name some RDBMS and types of databases.
  • The next question was variation of Coin exchange problem from round 1.
  • What is the most challenging question you solved till now?
  • What is Flutter, how is it different from Native development?
  • What is corousel in Flutter?

Technical + HR round

This round was held after 15 days and it tested my technical as well as managerial skills.

  • I was given two tables and was asked some question which was solved using JOIN and WHERE.
  • The next question was related to strings.
  • I was asked the questions that I could not answer in previous rounds.
  • What are your hobbies?
  • How do you see yourself in next 5 years.
