My Experience with ITPT Off-Campus Placements via Superset

I recently had the opportunity to participate in the ITPT off-campus placements specifically designed for 3-year graduates, conducted through the Superset platform. The process was divided into three phases, each designed to evaluate different skills.

Phase 1: Communication Assessments

The first round was focused on assessing our communication skills, which included:

Reading: Understanding and interpreting written content.

Writing: Conveying thoughts clearly and coherently.

Thinking: Analyzing situations and forming logical conclusions.

Listening: Comprehending spoken information accurately.

Phase 2: Aptitude Assessment

The second round tested our problem-solving abilities through various quantitative and logical reasoning questions. The topics covered were:

Percentage

Profit and Loss

Simple Interest

Time and Work

Time and Distance

Ages

Data Interpretation: Questions based on Pie charts and Bar graphs.

Phase 3: Technical Interview

The final phase was a face-to-face technical interview held at the Cognizant office, coordinated via the Superset platform. Here’s a brief overview of how it went:

Panelist: Introduce yourself.

Me: Answered confidently, highlighting my background and key achievements.

Panelist: Tell me about your school and PU college.

Me: Shared details about my educational journey.

Panelist: Describe your academic project.

Me: Explained the project’s objectives, methodology, and outcomes.

Panelist: What challenges did you face during the project?

Me: Discussed the obstacles encountered and how I overcame them.

Panelist: What is RDBMS, and why is it used instead of DBMS?

Me: Provided a detailed explanation, highlighting the advantages of RDBMS in real-time applications.

Panelist: Where can you find RDBMS in real-time scenarios?

Me: Gave examples of real-world applications where RDBMS is implemented.

The panelist then asked me to solve a few problems in the chatbox:

Palindrome Program: Demonstrated my coding skills.

Linear and Non-Linear Data Structures: Explained the concepts.

Aptitude Questions: Answered questions on Time and Work, and Direction Sense.

Garbage Collection in Java: Discussed Java’s memory management.

Panelist: Are you ready to relocate?

Me: Yes, sir.

Panelist: Do you have any questions for me?

Me: Asked insightful questions about the work culture and the tech stacks predominantly used at Cognizant.
