Shimul studied psychology at St. Xavier's, but it never quite felt like her. It was something she completed out of obligation, even as her interests pulled her in a different direction. She didn’t dwell on it for long, because by then, she had already started leaning into what felt far more natural to her: social media, storytelling, and understanding how people connect with content. What began as curiosity gradually turned into a career. She worked as a social media manager for publications such as iGeeksBlog, Guiding Tech, GizmoChina, and MySmartPrice, shaping their online presence and voice. She also worked with well-known influencers, including Rajiv Makhni and Rupesh Sinha of Sillycorns Media. Over time, she developed a strong instinct for what resonates with audiences. Somewhere along the way, writing became more than just a part of the job. It turned into something she really enjoyed and wanted to pursue more seriously. That shift led her to writing at MySmartPrice, where she began building her voice in consumer technology through her feature articles and in-depth reviews. Currently, Shimul is a contributor at Digital Trends, with over five years of experience in the tech space. She also writes for MakeUseOf, focusing on experiential features that go beyond specifications and into what gadgets actually feel like in everyday use. Her work spans Apple and Android ecosystems, smartphones, Mac and Windows, apps, productivity tools, and smart home technology. She covers both what’s trending and what personally sparks her curiosity, always aiming to keep her writing clear, grounded, and relatable for the readers. Outside of work, Shimul enjoys travelling and spending time in the kitchen, often experimenting with new recipes. You’ll probably also find her on a quiet hunt for the best iced coffee in town.
