    正直、文章やキャラクターや展開は学生さんっぽいというか、失礼ですが他の作家さんに比べて拙いというかまだ慣れていない感じがしました。

    ただその分なのか謎要素には力を入れていて、とにかく読者を驚かせよう楽しませようという熱意を感じましたね。

    最初の微妙な印象からどんどん面白くなっていくのは予想外でした。

    変わったミステリが読みたい方はお勧めです。

    屈指の名作になり得た作品だけど‥

    仕掛けの施された館、クローズドサークルで行われる殺人、炎の迫るタイムリミット。

    クラッシックな本格ミステリー感漂う構成で、実際に密室トリックやどんでん返しが詰め込まれていますのでミステリーが好きな方ほど楽しめると思います。

    個人的に文章自体は読みやすく、中盤以降で真相が解明していく展開は面白く先が気になって一気読み、名作になり得た作品だと思ってます。

    ただ、名作と呼ぶには躊躇するマイナス要素もあって評価を少し下げました。

    ネタバレを避けるため細かい言及はしないのですが「あまりにも偶然がすぎること」が多いなと、トリック以外の肝心な部分で偶然に頼るところが複数ありました。そこは整えて欲しかった。

    あと、炎の迫る切迫感がなかなか文面から伝わってこない印象でした。振り返って考えてみれば、そもそもこの設定って必要だったかな。雰囲気作りで入れただけな気も‥

    決して駄作とは思っておらず、全体の感想としては面白かったです。ただ、屈指の作品になり得ただけに惜しい印象が残りました。

    浮世離れした登場人物たち、ケレン味たっぷりの舞台装置、ドラマチックな殺人、過去の因縁、◯◯は実は◯◯だったという驚きの事実が次々と暴露されて飽きさせない。

    探偵気取りのお坊ちゃま少年が完膚なきまでに叩きのめされるのも批評性があってgood！

    『透明人間は密室に潜む』でファンになりましたが作者には今後も稚気と論理に満ちた知的遊戯を追究して頂きたい！

    山火事の火の手が刻一刻と迫る館の中で起きた殺人事件という舞台設定にはワクワクしました。

    しかし蓋を開けてみれば、登場人物たちの正体や彼らが館に集った理由など、偶然にしては出来すぎている部分があまりにも多く、突っ込みどころ満載な作品でした。

    山火事のタイミングも都合が良いので、誰かの意図で人為的に起こされたのかと思いきや、本当に自然現象だったとは。

    「館焼失まで◯時間◯分」といった見出しがよく入るので、タイムリミットに関連した大仕掛けがあるのかと思いきや、何の意味も無かったとは。

    フィクションなので面白くするために多少のご都合主義や大袈裟な表現はあって当然だと思っていますが、これはちょっと酷すぎます。

    そしてそのストーリーが描かれる文章は読みやすいのですが、何故かとても理解しづらいです。

    仕掛けや現場の状況がいまいち頭に入って来なかったり、会話もどれが誰の台詞か分からなくなることが多々ありました。

    読み進めたくなるような展開になっても、文章の分かりづらさが足を引っ張って、どうにものめり込めませんでした。

    また登場人物は魅力がなく、誰にも好感を抱けず共感も覚えられず、姿を思い描くことすらできません。

    特に元探偵の女性は陰鬱に描きすぎです。

    自分よりひと回り近く年下の高校生を相手に、「青いなぁ」とわざわざ口に出して憐れむような態度をとるこの女性の方が青いどころか大人気なく、どんなに正論を述べようが人間性の低さに読んでいて気分が悪かったです。

    そんな彼女と高校生との、探偵の生き方が云々といったやりとりは見るたびにゲンナリしますし、そのおかげで読後感が非常に悪かったです。

    この作品は息が詰まるような雰囲気が続いていただけに、最後くらいは気持ち良く終わらせて欲しかったなあ。

    読み進めて行くうちに、物語序盤から散りばめられたピースが一つ一つはまっていく。

    クライマックスは意外な形で、好みが分かれる気がする。

    主人公とその友人は高校生なのですが、導入から最後まで一貫して非常に子供です。なのに推理する事だけはできる。行動が考察力に伴ってないのが非常にアンバランスで、読んでいて疑問符が頭の中にちらつきます。私の読み込みが浅いのかとも思いますが、導入からその状態なのでしばらく読まずに放置してたぐらいです。

    また、最後まで救いの無いストーリーが私の好みに合わなかったのはご愛嬌ですかね。

    解体と推理、その面白さの凝縮

    癖のあるキャラクターたちが館に集まり、そして生じる殺人、解けない謎。思惑は絡み合い、who done it? Why done it? How done it? どの謎の論点もめぐりめく炎のように荒々しく思考を閉じ込めながら終わりのない密室を構築していく。しかし、それはすべて解体されうる謎でしかないはずなのに、絡み合う謎が次々と隠れた謎を暴き出す。最後に残るのは灰か、推理か、真実か。

    読み始めて一気に読了。小気味よくピースがハマっていくそのスタイルが本当に面白かったです。謎を解く、ということに重きを置きつつ、しかしそれ自身が探偵の苦悩にもつながっていく。ロジカルモンスターな作品の素晴らしさがここにあります。
