    いや、富士重工については関係者にいたから人より詳しいつもりでいたし、

    軍オタでは無いが戦闘機も人より詳しいつもりでいたし、

    芙蓉グループや安田グループも…だと思ってたけど、とんでもない。

    これ読むと、中島飛行機がどうしてできたのか、

    小山技師をはじめ、他社の例えば堀越技師がどうしておのおのの会社に就職したのか、

    なぜ零戦は三菱より中島の生産量が多かったのか、

    どういう順番で戦闘機や爆撃機を作ったのか、

    なぜ中島飛行機だけ解体されちゃったのか、

    なぜスバルが一時日産の参加だったのか、よくわかります。

    …この本が出ちゃうと、三菱重工、堀越技師、日本興業銀行、日産、GHQあたりは、少し都合が悪いというか、嘘ついたのがバレちゃう感じ…

    まず、本書は「中島飛行機の歴史」ではなく、「技術詳細の解説」でもないことに注意が必要。中島飛行機に特化した歴史や技術詳細を知りたい方は、他の書籍を読んだ方が良いでしょう。著者自身が述べているように、日本における「飛行機や技術の導入・進化」についての物語です。日本の航空技術の発展の中での中島飛行機の姿です。

    本書は増補新訂版であり、元は2002年の書籍のようです。その時点で既に戦後も50年以上過ぎており、直接当事者からの情報収集は困難だったと思われます。戦後に当事者たちと交流のあった富士重工関係者からのまた聞きや、文書資料によるものとなったはずですが、違和感もなく大変興味深い内容でした。労作と言えると思います。
