    物語に求めるものは読み手によって違うので、賛否が分かれるかもですが、私にはもうたまらんくらいの傑作でした。

    「ジョイランド」もそうなのですが、これら物語において超常的な出来事は、登場人物の行動のきっかけや葛藤を際立たせるためのひとつの装置でしかなく、本質はその特殊な状況下で際立つ人間ドラマだと思うのです。

    「ジョイランド」が爽やかな青春ドラマとするならば、本作は上質なサスペンスと恋愛ドラマと思います。

    人によっては冗長と感じるかもですが、その精緻な書き込みによってジョージ・アンバーソンもセイディーも物語の中で命をもってほんとうに生きているようでした。

    ゆえにラストの、現実の世界では起きえない主人公とセイディーのダンスは切なく、深い余韻が長いこと残りました。

    正直な感想は、長い。あまりにも長い超大作です。

    ラストへ向けて、徐々に、徐々に加速する盛り上げ方は、

    STEPHEN KING流ではあるが、助走が長すぎるため、

    途中で息が上る（飽きてしまう）感じもありました。

    でも、ラスト200ページのために、用意された下準備なのですね～。

    私は、単純な人間なので、ラストのダンスも胸が熱くなりました。

    一つの駒の配置のずれが、連鎖して大きく未来に跳ね返る。大きな

    駒の配置換えは、さらに、想像を超えた大きなしっぺ返しとして

    跳ね返る。　まあ～確かに、人生の教訓でありますが、、、、、。

    著者あとがきの記述も実に面白く読みました。かなりの研究時間

    を掛けて、ケネディ暗殺を調べ上げ上での本作品であり事に、

    さらなる感銘を受けました。

    この超大作で私の脳裏に、結局、残ったのは、時空を超えた愛！です。

    おそらくはアメリカ史の中で、ケネディ大統領暗殺事件とは日本人の私が思う以上に衝撃的な分水嶺的事件だったのだろう。世界史の視点で考えると、もしケネディが暗殺されなかったら？？というifの世界線を考えてしまうのだろう。一方で市井に生きる人々にも、自分史における分水嶺的出来事があり、時に、ある人は悔恨の、ある人は慙愧の念とともに、ifの世界線を夢想する。

    ひょんなことから、ひとりの男性高校教師にマクロとミクロの分水嶺の出来事を改変することができると設定される。ifの世界線を夢想するとき、我々は現状に満足していない。キングは問う。あなたは現状打開を過去の書き換えから始めるのか？と。そして物語として提示する。あなたが正しいという信念で選択したifが表出させた世界を。いつだって過去を前提条件として受け入れるところがスタートとなのではないかと。

    バタフライエフェクトも物語のキーファクター。歴史は市井の人々の試行錯誤の選択の集合体なのだから。

    冗長のきらいはある。しかし、それさえも私たちが物理的時間を費やした読書時間の追体験が、主人公のもう一度やり直すことへの拒絶を妙にリアルに感じさせる仕掛けにすら感じてしまう。

    イエロー、グリーンカードマンに謎は残るが、そこはあえての余白なんだと思う。四次元時空間としてのパラレルワールドの公理・法則を司る高次者が存在するではというメタファーとして。

    ラストはパラレルワールドの残滓を使ったロマンチックなシーン。

    やはり稀代のストーリーテーラー。さすがの一言に尽きる。

    長いですが、最後まで読めました。

    ただ、下巻後半あたりの畳み掛けが悪い意味でええ！？でした。

    あれなら、普通に過去に残ってヒロインに再アタックかけても良いような。

    暗殺とかは無視して。

    なんか結局この人恋愛以外はなんもやってない扱いになってるように思えて残念。

    不幸の結節点を除去しても，さらなる不幸につながるだけ・・。オリバーストーンのＪＦＫに完全に感化されている私は，単独犯行説はどうしても受け入れがたいですが，それはそれとして，ラストシーンはほろっときました。冗長な感否めませんが，読んで良かったです。人生には良いことも悪いことも起こりますが，起こったことを受け入れることが人生を豊かにできるということを教えてくれます。

    タイムトラベルの話には今まであまり手を出して来なかったけれど、この作品は読んで良かったと思える作品でした。

    上中下と時代背景や当時の生活の様子が、とても丁寧に描かれていて、主人公の戸惑いや感動がイキイキと伝わって来ました。

    ラストも納得で爽やかな余韻が残りました。

    他作品の街が出て来たのも嬉しかったです。
