    　絵柄はお世辞にも上手とは言えないのだが、表情の描き方は実にうまい（矛盾した表現なのは承知の上）。王と神殿、つまり政治と宗教どちらが上かということに最後までこだわる弟のタジオンと、それと意識せずに自己というものを持たない兄、イリス。この兄弟の間で人々が右往左往するうちに世界の破滅が刻々と近づいてくる、その緊張感が心地よかった。

    　高校生だった当時、随所に出てくる知的な会話にほれ込み、いずれはこういうセリフが吐けるようになりたいと望んでいたが、どうやら夢で終わりそうだ。

    　そういえば、１巻で家出（？）中のイリスは舞姫シリンと知り合い、お互い一目ぼれをするのだが、イリスには「自己」という考え方がないから二人の「好き」はすれ違う。そのあたりを「あなたは多分わかっていない」と友人に指摘され憤慨したものだが、今になってみると彼女は鋭かった。どちらかというと当時の私はイリスに近かった。年を重ねてわかることもある。

    　彼女もまだ、持っているだろうか。
