1933年、東京に生まれる。学習院大学から、アメリカへ渡りサラ・ローレンス大学で、作曲と詩を学ぶ。1966年、ビートルズのジョン・レノンと知り合い、’69年3度目の結婚をする。’75年、長男ショーン誕生。’80年、レノンとの共作アルバム「ダブル・ファンタジー」を発表、同年12月8日、目前でレノンを凶弾に喪う。その後ソロ・アルバムを発表、’90年5月には東京にて作品展「踏絵」を開催。

    こちらには、三好耕三さんの写真が使われています。

    その他にも、石内都さんのような有名写真家も参加されています。写真表現でこれだけの存在感と言うか石内さんにしか撮れない写真がオノヨーコさんの言葉と重なると、すごいなと、思わず息を呑みます。

    個人的には、伊奈英次さんの写真とのコラボがいいなと思いました。

    個人的にはかなりぶっ飛んだ1冊だなと感じました。

    単に目で追うのではなく、実行する。

    叫んだり、空に石を投げたり、ツナサンド作ったり…

    常に人の目があると考えがちの現代風の思考では乗り切ることのできない、一時的な思考の転換を促してくれる、そんな本です。

    最後のページを実行するにはまだまだかかりそう。

    翻訳者のあまりにがっかりな日本語に唖然のひとことです。

    命令口調で書かてれていますが、ヨーコさんはけっして英語で

    そのように表現などしていません。。訳者のような人がいるから彼女の人格を

    否定するがごとくの誹謗中傷するのです。もちろんヨーコさんも出版に

    あたって翻訳文を読んだと思うのですが、もはや日本語よりも英語思考力

    のほうが高い彼女ですから、微妙な日本語の言い回しが即座に理解できなかったのではと

    思います。とにかくこのような稚拙でいいかげんな翻訳者は排除すべき。

    日本語がはいっていなければこの本は最高です。英語版を買えばよかったと激しく後悔。

    かつて文庫版を購入した事がありますが、やはり単行本タイプが良いですね。今回書い直しました。命令調の文体で構成されていますが、決して強くなくぽつりと囁かれるような、不思議で繊細な内容。一言一言はとても短いので、サラサラとページがすすみます。そんな雰囲気を補う美しいモノクロ写真の組み合わせも、読み手の想像力をかきたててくれます。

    オノヨーコさんの名前は知ってるけど、作品といえばyesの虫メガネとハシゴぐらいしか知らない…という方、少なくないのではないでしょうか。この一冊是非おすすめします。
