BREAKING: House Speaker Mike Johnson says there will be a vote "this morning" to try and avert a government shutdown as President Trump posts to Truth Social stating that if thereโs going to be a government shutdown, let it happen now.
โIf there is going to be a shutdown of government, let it begin now, under the Biden Administration, not after January 20th, under โTRUMP.โ This is a Biden problem to solve, but if Republicans can help solve it, they will!โ

NEW: The Biden administration is canceling another $4.28 billion in student loan relief for about 54,900 borrowers who work in public service, the White House announced on Friday.
This will likely be one of the final rounds of relief Biden delivers before President-elect Trump takes office next month. The incoming administration is not expected to prioritize debt forgiveness.
The Biden administration has now forgiven nearly $180 billion for 4.9 million borrowers.
Friday's action, through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program, will provide relief to borrowers who are teachers, firefighters and members of law enforcement and meet certain qualifications.

Sum of All Fears: The National Football League is calling on Congress to act immediately as America's drone crisis threatens to impact major sporting events.
Speculation over the source of unexplained drone sightings has reached fever pitch in recent weeks, and the NFL is keen to use the publicity to secure its stadiums as the Super Bowl fast approaches.
Earlier this year, the huge AFC title game between the Chiefs and Ravens had to be temporarily stopped for safety reasons when a man flew a drone over the stadium in Baltimore.
In fact, the league claims that 'threats, incidents and incursions by unauthorized drones over NFL games jumped from 12 in 2017 to more than 2,800 in 2023'.
In a statement, the NFL's senior vice president of security Cathy Lanier has called on Congress to take steps to prevent further incidents from occurring.
'Over the past several years, an increasing number of drones have flown into restricted airspace during NFL games,' she said.

๐คPresident-elect Donald Trump this week transferred his entire stake of shares in Trump Media to a revocable trust of which he is the sole beneficiary, regulatory filings revealed Thursday evening.
Trump did not receive any money for the gift of his 114,750,000 shares of Trump Media stock to the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust on Tuesday, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Because Trump is the beneficiary of the trust, he now โindirectlyโ owns the Trump Media shares he transferred, the SEC filing noted.
The president-electโs son, Donald Trump Jr., is the sole trustee of the trust, and has sole voting and investment power over securities held by the entity, according to a separate SEC filing Thursday.
Trump Media, which trades under the DJT ticker, closed at $35.41 per share Thursday, making the value of the transferred stock more than $4 billion.
Trump, who is set to be sworn in as president for a second non-consecutive term on Jan. 20, had been the largest individual shareholder in the social media company, which operates the Truth Social app. His stake represented nearly 53% of the companyโs outstanding shares.

Establishment shill and Democrat member of Congress, Gerry Connelly, calls Elon Musk โdangerousโ.
They are blaming Elon, but they know itโs not Elon. Itโs the American people who now have more control over our government than ever before.
Elon took away their propaganda tool (X) and they canโt control the narrative anymore.

Whatโs going on? ๐ค Earlier today, Kamala Harris canceled her flight to California where she was headed for the weekend. This is her motorcade swiftly arriving at the White House. Biden, reportedly meant to be in Delaware until Christmas, also returned toโฆ
DAILY MAIL: Vice President Kamala Harris abruptly canceled her Christmas vacation trip to Los Angeles on Thursday, as the fate of a congressional effort to fund the government remains uncertain.
The Vice Presidentโs office had advised reporters at 3:00pm that Harris would not travel to Los Angeles, CA and instead remain in Washington, DC.
Thursday eveningโs guidance revealed that Harris would remain in Washington, DC for the day to โreceive briefings and conduct internal meetings with staff.โ
The sudden cancelation of Harrisโ vacation plans prompted speculation on social media that perhaps President Joe Biden was in poor health, after a Wall Street Journal story reminded Americans just how frail the president of the United States had become.
But Biden appeared to be mobile on Thursday, as he returned with his family to the White House. He exited Marine One and walked across the South Lawn with his wife Jill and holding the hand of his grandson Beau Biden. Hunter Biden traveled with the president.
The Biden family traveled to Delaware to attend a Mass Wednesday commemorating the death of Joe Bidenโs first wife and daughter in a traffic accident 52 years ago. The Mass was held at St. Joseph on the Brandywine after a church service in Wilmington, Delaware.
Harrisโ return to Washington, DC is likely due to the uncertainty of whether the House of Representatives can pass a stopgap continuing resolution bill to fund the government.
The vice president may be needed to vote in the Senate in case of a tie, but also it would look bad politically if she left Washington for her Christmas vacation while legislators remind in town to hammer out a deal.

Since the start of the summer, nine ministers have either stepped down from their cabinet posts or signaled they don't intend to run for re-election next year... "There's a visceral dislike for the prime minister," Wayne Long, a Liberal lawmaker from Atlantic Canada, told Canada's CTV News this week. "He needs to accept that. I think, to be blunt, he's delusional right now and I think he's living in a false reality."

'Why would I enter a burning building?': Some Liberals say a chance at Trudeau's cabinet not worth it

The package includes air defense interceptors and artillery munitions, according to a third source, but the exact contents are expected when the package is announced in the coming days. The package will be worth about $1.2 billion, said the sources.
Under USAI, military equipment is procured from the defense industry or partners, rather than drawn from American stocks, meaning it can take months or years to arrive on the battlefield.
The USAI package could be among the last steps the United States takes to provide direct military support to Ukraine as Kyiv braces for the return of President-elect Donald Trump, who has publicly questioned military aid and vowed to end the Ukraine war within 24 hours of taking office on Jan. 20.
Since Russia's invasion of its neighbor in February 2022, the United States has committed $175 billion in aid for Ukraine, including approximately $61.4 billion in security assistance.
About half of that security assistance has come through the USAI program, and the rest has gone toward pulling from existing military stocks via presidential drawdown authority.
There is $5.6 billion remaining of presidential drawdown authority.

Two self-proclaimed geopolitical alpha male leaders will be squaring off next year.
In one corner will be President Donald Trump, hungry for a Ukraine peace deal that would make him look like a global peacemaker. In the other, Russian President Vladimir Putin, an astute, manipulative and vehemently anti-American autocrat who hopes to entice Trump into creating a transactional new world order without rules or human rights.
Putin is seeking a grand bargain on European security that would leave Ukraine at the Kremlinโs mercy, weaken NATO and cement Russiaโs place as a global power.
Ahead of any talks, the Kremlin is carefully assessing Trumpโs messaging, ambitions and vulnerabilities, while remaining wary of his unpredictability. Trumpโs weaknesses, according to Russian analysts, include geopolitical naivety, a short attention span and a propensity to rely on gut not brain.
โTrump deliberately keeps silent, I think, because he doesnโt know,โ said Konstantin Remchukov, editor of Nezavisimaya Gazeta. โWe saw his campaign. Heโs not a profound thinker on geopolitical stuff.โ
The biggest issue between the two men will be the conflict in Ukraine, which Trump has promised to end in 24 hours.
But Putin has set strict conditions for any deal, including keeping Ukraine permanently out of NATO, significantly reducing its military and hanging on to Ukrainian territory. Analysts see little hope for a peace deal, given Putinโs maximalist position and Trumpโs wariness of looking weak if he gives too much to Russia.

Turns out it passed the Republican led House as a stand-alone bill last March but went nowhere in Chuck Schumer's Senate.

War has been declared on the Russian world today, President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting of the State Council for the Support of Russian Families.
"Colleagues from the Duma spoke, they said that war had been declared on the Russian world. And so it is," he said.
At the end of November, addressing the participants of the World Russian People's Council (WRPC), the head of state noted that the ideological basis of the Russian world is distinguished by its openness, unwavering respect for all original cultures and civilizations. All this, according to Putin, has a wide response on the planet.
