The first election official convicted of a felony over 2020 election fraud claims is appealing an earlier contempt of court ruling in a related case.

Tina Peters, 68, is the former county clerk of Mesa County, Colorado. In August, she was convicted on seven counts of engaging in a security breach โ€” related to unauthorized access to voting machines. In October, after a marathon hearing in which the defendant repeatedly expressed defiance and stuck to her theories, she was sentenced to nine years in state prison for those felony offenses.

While sitting in the gallery during a February 2022 hearing for one of her alleged co-conspirators, Peters allegedly used an iPad to record some of the proceedings. In May 2023, she was found guilty of contempt for that decidedly lesser charge โ€” and fined $1,500.

In June, Peters appealed her contempt citation, with the state filing its reply brief the following month. This week, Petersโ€™ attorney John Case appeared before a three-judge panel of the Colorado Court of Appeals.

Village People Founder Weighs Performing 'YMCA' at Trump's Inauguration

"I decided to allow the President-elect's continued use of 'YMCA' because he seems to genuinely like the song and so many other artists were stopping him from using their music. So, I decided not to terminate his political use license because he seemed to be bringing so much joy to the American people with his use of 'YMCA.'"

When asked if he will play the song at the inauguration, he says, "If you had asked me today if the Village People would perform at the inauguration, I would probably say no because we'd be concerned about endorsement. However, because the President-elect has done so much for 'YMCA' and brought so much joy to so many people, the song has actually gone back to #1 and it's still #1 today. So, if he were to ask The Village People to perform the song live for him, we'd have to seriously consider it."

NEW: Roughly 15 demonstrators were arrested in a House building Thursday amid a protest against Speaker Mike Johnson's (R-La.) recent bathroom and facility ban affecting transgender and nonbinary people on Capitol Hill.

The policy, which Johnson announced last month after GOP firebrands pushed an effort to restrict Rep.-elect Sarah McBride (D-Del.) from using women's restrooms, has been slammed by human rights and LGBTQ+ activists, along with several Democratic members of Congress.

Former soldier and U.S. Army whistleblower Chelsea Manning was among the trans rights protesters who occupied a bathroom in Cannon House Office Building near Johnson's office, according to multiple reports.

It was not clear whether Manning was detained.

Protesters held a large sign that read "FLUSH BATHROOM BIGOTRY" and chanted, "Speaker Johnson! Nancy Mace! Our bodies are no debate!" per reports from the scene. They also called on Democrats to speak up, chanting, "Democrats, grow a spine! Trans rights are on the line."

Syrian insurgents seized control of the central city of Hama on Thursday, prompting government forces to withdraw in a major blow to President Bashar Assad. This comes just days after the insurgents captured Aleppo, Syriaโ€™s largest city, marking a significant shift in the long-standing civil war.

A Republican unveiled a new bill that will give Donald Trump's DOGE agency the tools and clear direction to hit the ground running on day one of the next administration.

Trump tapped Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to 'dismantle' the $6.5 trillion bloated U.S. bureaucracy by heading the newly created Department of Government Efficiency.

They plan to cut wasteful regulations and spending by specifically targeting the number of federal government employees.

Top Republican Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, is leading DOGE's aggressive plans on a new 'DOGE Caucus' being set up in the Senate.

On the House side, Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., was tapped for a powerful job assisting DOGE by chairing a new congressional subcommittee.

Ernst's first DOGE-related bill exclusively obtained by DailyMail.com, the REMOTE Act, will use software to monitor bureaucrats' computer use and require agency reports on the adverse impacts of telework.

It will also provide key information on how to get D.C. back to work.

Musk, along with his toddler X, and Ramaswamy are on Capitol Hill Thursday to meet with the lawmakers and get a plan in place heading into the next administration.

More evidence that a network of shills is amplified to scam people and undermine patriots.

Michael Jaco - who appeared out of nowhere in 2021 with the Charles Ward โ€œTeamโ€ network - is here shilling for that Ariel account.

Arielโ€™s main priority, as we know, is to attack General Michael Flynn and others like Kash Patel.

โ€œFormerโ€ CIA Michael Jaco has also worked to undermine Flynn. Back in 2021/2022 he promoted the narratives of Lin Wood on his podcast, back when Lin was working with Stew Peters to slander Flynn.

Now here we are watching Jaco promote the โ€œDinarโ€ scam, along with promoting Ariel. Coincidence both of those people work to attack General Flynn?

There is a large network of shills working to infiltrate the Q movement, promote money siphoning scams like โ€œDinarโ€ and โ€œNESARAโ€, and attack the likes of General Flynn & others.

Pretty clear when you connect the dots.

๐Ÿค”President-elect Trump hosted the chief executives of Pfizer, Eli Lilly and PhRMA Wednesday night at Mar-a-Lago, where they discussed how the public and private sectors can collaborate on finding cures for cancer, among other topics, Axios has learned.

The patio dinner is a potential indication that Trump's administration will see the pharmaceutical industry as a partner โ€” not just an adversary โ€” for parts of its "Make America Healthy Again" agenda.

Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, Lilly CEO David Ricks were at the dinner. Steve Ubl, CEO of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) represented the industry at the table. Trump's incoming chief of staff, Susie Wiles, also attended.

The meeting at Mar-a-Lago included a pre-dinner reception and lasted nearly three hours.

Vice President-elect JD Vance is expected to travel Friday to Fairview, North Carolina, to survey Hurricane Helene recovery efforts, a source familiar with the trip told NBC News.

Vance is scheduled to meet with first responders and visit a home renovation project, this person added. He also will meet with the family of Tony Ray Garrison, a fire battalion chief who died while rescuing victims of a Helene-related mudslide in late September.

Outside of meetings and events surrounding President-elect Donald Trumpโ€™s transition efforts, the North Carolina visit will be Vanceโ€™s first trip since last monthโ€™s election.

Vance surveyed Helene damage during an October campaign trip, touring storm-battered Damascus, Virginia. Appearing that day with Gov. Glenn Youngkin, a fellow Republican, Vance spoke about the importance of federal assistance to recovery efforts there and โ€œespecially North Carolina.โ€ Vance also pledged to โ€œdo what we can to help this community and communities all across Appalachia rebuild.โ€

Pete Hegseth just handled the fake news like an absolute boss after his meeting with senators on Capitol Hill๐Ÿ”ฅ

โ€œThis will not be a process tried in the media. I donโ€™t answer to anyone in this group. None of you. Not to that camera at all.

I answer to President Trump, who received 76 million votes and a mandate for change. I answer to the 100 senators who are part of this process and those in the committee. And I answer to my Lord and Savior and my wife and my familyโ€ฆ

As long as Donald Trump wants me in this fight, Iโ€™m gonna be standing right hereโ€ฆโ€๐Ÿ’ฅ

๐Ÿ˜’The two Georgia women who won a $148 million defamation verdict against Rudy Giuliani asked a federal judge Thursday to hold him in civil contempt and impose โ€œsevereโ€ sanctions for thwarting the courtโ€™s orders.

In their request, the women, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, say Giuliani has failed to turn over even a single document in response to court orders requiring him to share information about a Palm Beach condo the women are seeking to seize from him. They argue that monetary penalties would be insufficient, but donโ€™t specifically ask for jail time, writing that the court should โ€œimpose whatever coercive sanction it deems appropriate in its expertise.โ€

โ€œMr. Giulianiโ€™s existing debt to Plaintiffs vastly exceeds his existing assets, and there is no reason to believe that a monetary sanction would remedy the violation or deter such future behavior,โ€ their lawyers wrote.

Their request comes after the women also asked a different federal judge in D.C. to hold Giuliani in contempt of court for repeating false claims like those that led to the defamation judgment against him, in which he accused them of committing election fraud in the 2020 election.

President-elect Donald Trump is expected to attend the Army-Navy football game, according to two people familiar who were granted anonymity to discuss the plans.

The 2024 Army-Navy Game, set for Dec. 14 in Landover, Maryland, will be the 125th in the series. Trump attended the game as president-elect in 2016 and three times while he was president.

President Joe Biden has not attended the traditional match-up between the two military academies, though commanders in chief in recent years have appeared at the game (he did attend while he was vice president in 2012).

That tradition dates back to 1901, when Theodore Roosevelt attended. In a sign of neutrality, he spent half of the game on the Army side and half on the Navy side, according to a Washington Post report at the time.
