๐คฏHouse Democrats pressured U.S. Capitol Police to provide special financial assistance and even a promotion to the officer who fatally shot unarmed protester Ashli Babbitt during the Jan. 6 riot, resulting in tens of thousands of dollars in taxpayer and charitable assistance not provided to other officers, according to internal emails reviewed by Just the News.
"He is very upset about how he is being treated. He wants us to figure this out and now," a top congressional aide to then-House Appropriations Subcommittee Chairman Tim Ryan, D-Ohio, wrote to Capitol Police in November 2021 pressing for more assistance to Lt. Michael Byrd after he killed Babbitt.
The records show that pressure also came from then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's staff and from then-Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, causing Capitol Police to find any solution they could to make Byrd and Democrats happy. Despite the extraordinary assistance, Byrd expressed dissatisfaction and continued to insist he deserved more, to the chagrin of Capitol Police officials, according to records assembled by Congress.
"We play the game as you request and then once weโre in compliance You guys change the rules on us,โ Byrd wrote to U.S. Capitol Police General Counsel Thomas DiBiase in November 2021 after being informed he wouldn't be able to immediately access charitable funds from a memorial fund for fallen or wounded officers.

People like Julie Kelly are going on shows calling for Trump to blanket pardon ALL January 6th political prisoners
But Brian Cates makes a great point - this could be a bad move because why would we want to pardon any of those who are Feds and Informants, too?
J6 pardons should be on a case by case basis.

๐คจJordan Neeley's family have filed a lawsuit against Daniel Penny - a homeless man who died after he was held in a chokehold on the New York subway last year.
They are suing Penny, a former member of the Marine Corps, for negligent contact, assault, and battery that caused injuries and ultimately death, The Independent has reported.
It comes as a jury in an unrelated criminal case is currently deliberating manslaughter and negligent homicide charges brought against Penny over Neeley's death.

Conservative filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza has issued an apology over surveillance videos used in his documentary film โ2,000 Mulesโ about the 2020 election.
DโSouza said some of the video footage that appears in the film, which shows ballot harvesting, is misleading.
He said all of the images of individuals shown in the videos were blurred and unrecognizable but one of them, Mark Andrews, has "initiated a lawsuit over the use of his blurred image in the film and the book."
DโSouza said he owes Andrews an apology.
"I now understand that the surveillance videos used in the film were characterized on the basis of inaccurate information provided to me and my team," he said in a statement. "If I had known then that the videos were not linked to geolocation data, I would have clarified this and produced and edited the film differently.
D'Souza relied on geolocation data from the organization True the Vote for the film.
He maintained that the overall premise of the film is accurate despite the footage showing Andrews.
True the Vote responded to his public apology.

"The central premise of โ2000 Mulesโ, as identified and validated by True the Voteโs (TTV) research, remains accurate. However, regarding the individual mentioned in Mr. DโSouzaโs statement, TTV had no editorial control over the โ2000 Mulesโ movie and no involvement in the books," the organization said in a statement.
"We did not select videos or graphics used for dramatic effect. This individual was not part of the geospatial study in which TTV identified 242 unique devices having visited at least 10 ballot drop boxesโa fact that was communicated to Mr. DโSouzaโs team. Despite this, DโSouzaโs team included a blurred video of this individual in their โ2000 Mulesโ movie and book productions," the group added.

Jeff Bezos, the billionaire tech mogul and owner of The Washington Post, says he views it as a responsibility of the mainstream media to convince President-elect Trump the press is not his enemy.
โIโm going to try and talk him out of that idea,โ Bezos said at the New York Times DealBook Summit on Wednesday. โI donโt think the press is the enemy.โ
โYouโve probably grown in the last two years, he has too,โ he told journalist Andrew Ross Sorkin during an interview. โLetโs go persuade him of this. I donโt think heโs going to see it the same way, but maybe Iโll be wrong.โ
Bezos said Trump today strikes him as โcalmerโ than he was during his first campaign for the White House, and โmore confident and settle.โ

Acting Director of the Secret Service Ronald Rowe tells House panel that an investigation into the assassination attempt against Donald Trump โidentified failures by multiple employees that warrant disciplinary action.โ
โLet me be clear, there will be accountability and that accountability is occurring. It is an extensive review that requires time to ensure due process and the pace of this process, quite frankly, it does frustrate me. But, it is essential that we recognize the gravity of our failure. I personally carry the weight of knowing that we almost lost a protectee and our failure cost a father and husband his life.โ

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) โ A pair of European satellites rocketed into orbit Thursday on the first mission to create artificial solar eclipses through fancy formation flying in space.
Each fake eclipse should last six hours once operations begin next year. Thatโs considerably longer than the few minutes of totality offered by a natural eclipse here on Earth, allowing for prolonged study of the sunโs corona, or outer atmosphere.
The launch took place from India.
โWe are a very happy science team hereโ in India, the European Space Agencyโs mission scientist Joe Zender said via email.
Billed as a tech demo, the two satellites will separate in a month or so and fly 492 feet (150 meters) apart once reaching their destination high above Earth, lining up with the sun so that one spacecraft casts a shadow on the other.

Iowa is suing the Biden administration over its alleged refusal to provide access to the citizenship status information of more than 2,000 registered voters whose status was questioned ahead of the 2024 election.
Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird and Secretary of State Paul Pate filed the lawsuit on Tuesday, which claims U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) "would not hand over" its "list of noncitizens illegally registered to vote in Iowa."
Federal authorities' "failure meant that the State had to rely on the best โ imperfect โ data it had available to ensure that no Iowanโs vote was canceled by an illegal, noncitizen vote," Pate and Bird said in a joint statement.
Along with USCIS, the lawsuit names the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas as defendants.

BREAKING: UnitedHealthcare CEO assassin, seen unmasked in new photos, believed to have left a message on bullet casings
The gunman wanted in the broad daylight slaying of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson is seen smiling in new surveillance images released by the New York City Police Department on Thursday.
The unknown assassin's face is shown for the first time in the two new images the NYPD released as the manhunt continues for a second day.
"With these new photos, if indeed they are the shooter, it is now only a matter of time," Fox News crime analysis contributor Paul Mauro told Fox News Digital. "Facial recognition and other technologies have come a long way, and my understanding is that the police have been making progress on other fronts in this case. It is truer than ever that you canโt get away with murder these days. The detectives will get whoever is behind this, and soon."
New evidence also suggests that the suspect who killed Thompson on Wednesday may have left a message behind on the bullet casings at the scene.

The author of a book tied to the assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson refused to address the killer's apparent tribute to his tome when contacted by DailyMail.com.
Author Jay M. Feinman responded 'no comment' when asked for his take on bullet casings left at the scene of Thompson's shooting outside Manhattan's Hilton Hotel on Wednesday, which were scrawled with 'depose', 'deny' and 'defend.'
The message is eerily similar to Feinman's 2010 book 'Delay, Deny, Defend', which details 'why insurance companies don't pay claims and what you can do about it.'
Critics allege the tactic is used by insurance companies to 'ensure your claim is either never paid or paid at a rate far below what you deserve'.
Health insurance boss Thompson, 50, was shot in the back and calf early on Wednesday by a masked man who fled on a bike, before the CEO succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
Feinman is a law professor at Rutgers University. It's unclear whether he had any personal impetus to write the book.
It explains how the health insurance industry routinely puts claimants off with bureaucratic tactics and, in the end, never end up paying out.
Police are yet to confirm the gunman's identity or motive.

Senator Tuberville asks about the safety of food coloring.
FDA Deputy Commissioner Jim Jones: "At FDA, we have not evaluated the safety of Red 40 in over a decade."
"Let me say this, Red 3 has been known to cause cancer in cosmetics, but we still allow it to be put in our food. I don't understand that."
Jones answers, "So, Red 3, we have a petition in front of us to revoke the authorization for it, and we are hopeful that within the next few weeks we will be acting on that petition, and a decision should be forthcoming."
Senator Tuberville then asks why it takes so long when, if we know it's deadly for anybody that ingests it, "how do we continue to just study that and not say, 'hey, enough's enough?'"

The Secret Service needs massive reformsโฆ

Agreed. There has been zero meaningful accountability. Basic questions are still unanswered. Not a single member of our family (other than my father) has even been contacted by the upper floors. The good news is the agents themselves are as solid as it comes (most more pissed off than all of us) and I have no doubt, in time, it will all be rectified.

Oh FFS; narcissistic bint Annette Bening was in front of SCOTUS yesterday on behalf of transitioning minors because having a transgender child has made her so much more interesting. She actually said that. Out loud. It's extra creepy given said child is 32.
Then there's the part where I can't imagine the abuse the daughter experienced to decide that coming out as a gay man at 14 was her best option.
As an aside, do we know when Annette decided to morph into Hillary Clinton? I can't unsee/unhear the similarities.
