Migrants attempt to board school buses in East County

Two school bus routes within the Jamul-Dulzura Union School District have been briefly interrupted over the last two days after migrants attempted to board them, according to district officials.

In an emailed notice to families obtained by FOX 5/KUSI, Superintendent Liz Bystedt said a group of migrants attempted to board along the district’s A and B school bus routes.

The first incident occurred along the Route A route near the intersection of Highway 94 and Cochera Via Tuesday afternoon. According to Bystedt, a group of three men were walking in the middle of the highway trying to stop one of the buses, prompting it to “go around” the group.

Texas sued by environmental activist over ‘unconstitutional’ anti-ESG law

Texas was sued on Thursday by a nonprofit whose members support environmentally-friendly policies, and which seeks to block a state law targeting businesses that support reduced reliance on fossil fuels.

The American Sustainable Business Council said the 2021 law known as Senate Bill 13 violates members’ free speech rights by banning Texas from investing in or contracting with businesses that, in the state’s view, “boycott” the oil and gas industry.

Texas is the largest and among the most prominent Republican-led states to crack down on businesses whose environmental, social and governance (ESG) policies it dislikes. It is also easily the largest US oil producing state.

X appeared to suffer an outage on Thursday with users worldwide reporting issues.

Issues started at around 3.45pm Eastern Time, affecting people across North America, the UK and Europe all struggling to use Elon Musk's social media site.

Tens of thousands of people logged problems on the website Downdetector, which is likely to be a vast undercount of total users affected. 

The most common complaints were to do with problems loading content on the mobile app, but issues also seem to be plaguing the website.

Kamala Harris and Tim Walz had one helluva scare as their campaign rolled through Georgia on Wednesday when a motorcycle cop in their motorcade was critically injured in a crash.

The Democratic presidential candidate and her VP pick were part of a bus tour cruising along a highway in Savannah on Wednesday night when the motorcycle officer lost control and wiped out, without hitting another vehicle.

Members of the press following the motorcade reported one of the doors on the bus opened briefly, before the motorcade took off about 3 minutes later.

Savannah PD issued a statement, saying the cop was taken to Memorial Health University Medical Center to be treated for severe injuries.

President Donald Trump once again stokes rumors about Justin Trudeau in his new book by claiming that Fidel Castro could be the Canadian prime minister's father. 

Trump put the rumor in print, weeks after saying in a podcast interview that 'they say he's the son of Fidel Castro, and could be.'

Trump has also previously said Trudeau's mother Margaret slept with all of the Rolling Stones, according to a former aide – a story Mick Jagger referenced in a tour stop in Canada, that Trump also stirs up in his book

Trump adds: 'His mother was beautiful and wild. In the 1970s, she would go “clubbing” with the Rolling Stones, but she was also somehow associated with Fidel Castro. She said he was “the sexiest man I’ve ever met,” and a lot of people say that Justin is his son.

'He swears that he isn’t, but how the hell would he know! Castro had good hair, the “father” didn’t, Justin has good hair, and has become a Communist just like Castro,' Trump wrote.

Colorado mayor speaks out after video of armed Venezuelan gang in apartment goes viral: 'Failed policy'

Mayor Mike Coffman of Aurora, Colorado joined America Reports on Thursday after surveillance footage showing armed Venezuelan gang members in an apartment complex went viral online.

Coffman confirmed that at least two apartment buildings within the city limits have been overtaken by Venezuelan gangs.

The mayor also admitted on-air that "Cookie Monster," a Tren de Aragua gang leader, "has been apprehended."

"This is an organized criminal effort. Whether it's trend, a drug war, that remains to be to be seen," said Coffman.
