Description

Steps to replicate the issue (include links if applicable):

  • Navigate to an article with an image with a caption longer than 1 line (example article: Operation Sea Lion)
  • Tap the image
  • Scroll the caption

What happens?:
The image caption appears in a very small area, making it difficult to scroll and read

What should have happened instead?:
The image caption should have a larger area to make it scrollable and readable

Software version (on Special:Version page; skip for WMF-hosted wikis like Wikipedia):
Tested on 8.0.0.318 on iPhone and iPad

Looks ok to me on 8.0.0 (6027), tested on:
iPhone 16, iOS 26.4
iPad Air 11-inch, iPadOS 26.3.1 (Note: this is still occurring on iPad, but a method was added to show all the text. I am wrote a feature request to make the icon more intuitive. T422857)
